I can teach you Logic from a computational perspective, get your more insight in the foundations of Mathematics or teach you how to apply logical techniques to philosophical problems. I have a strong background in Logic through my degree and followed courses in Computational Logic, Mathematical Logic, Symbolic Logic, Modal Logic, Logic Programming and Intensional Logic. I have also taught the undergraduate courses Introduction to Logic and Computational Logic. I would be excited to tutor you in this interdisciplinary field. [more]

During my undergraduate studies I got a 3.8 in a logic course, and during my graduate studies I got a 3.7 in a deductive reasoning course. On the logic section of the GRE test I was at the 91 percentile score level. I regularly use logical reasoning when explaining math to students, during my own graduate studies - MS in Mathematics earned 2012, and in every day life. I have 15 years of experience teaching mathematics to students of all ages and backgrounds, but I especially enjoy tutoring students one-on-one where I can focus on the student's individual learning needs. I have taught and tu [more]

Since receiving my Ph.D. from the Logic and Philosophy of Science department at UC Irvine (in 2004), I have been teaching Logic at local colleges since 2005. In 2005, I taught the Language, Proof, and Logic textbook, but since then I have been using the Power of Logic. The classes I have taught have been billed as "Symbolic Logic", "Introduction to Logic", and "Logic and Critical Thinking." My goal is to help you learn math, and to come to see that math is useful, interesting, and fun. I teach all kinds of math, but my specialty is pre-calculus (Algebra and Trigonometry). When I was a stu [more]

I'm training as an applied mathematician, and have a B.S. in biotechnology and in applied mathematics. I'm in UCR's PhD program for math, so I use predicate logic every day. I graduated CSU Bakersfield with a double major in applied math and biotech, and am now a PhD grad student at UCR. I?m looking to tutor near Corona, CA or in Riverside, CA. I?ve tutored since high school and currently TA for undergrad mathematics at multiple levels. Currently I?m beginning research for mathematical modeling of biological systems, and I have a passion for both the abstract math and the observable scient [more]

I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. I completed two lower-division philosophy courses in Logic as an undergraduate, one of which is now an upper-division philosophy course in the philosophy department at UCLA. These Logic courses were instructed by a world-renowned logician in the Philosophy department at UCLA by the name of David Kaplan, via a software program he authored, Logic 2000. I am a full-time private tutor, specializing in English, primarily the SAT English & the ACT English, despite that I am also an SAT Math instruct [more]

Logic is one of my core areas of research interest and is the area I have the most experience teaching in. I have taken numerous graduate-level courses in logic, including Modal Logic and Metalogic. I developed and taught a university-level course covering both Propositional (Sentential) and Predicate (Quantificational) Logic. I have also worked with USC faculty to develop online resources for teaching and learning introductory logic, aimed at making the material accessible to visual learners unfamiliar with formal languages. I took the following logic related courses at the undergraduate level: 1) Critical Thinking 2) Reasoning Under Uncertainty (Bayesian probability) 3) Logic. I took a course in Advanced Logic at the graduate level. I got a 4.0 on all these courses. I graduated with honors in Philosophy from Pitzer College, where I did my Master's thesis on the topic of animal ethics within the society-centered meta-ethical view. I am able to assist with virtually any topic in philosophy, as well as English and writing. I specialize in helping my students formulate strong positions and argue well for those po [more]

I have taught/tutored for 7 years. I was both a student and graduate assistant at CSULB where I attained a B.S. in Mathematics and a M.S. in Statistics. I have experience tutoring in all mathematics subjects up to and including graduate-level material. I have a massive amount of experience in tutoring almost all of the subjects that I'm qualified to teach or tutor. Thus, it is very difficult to find another tutor who has as much experience in tutoring algebra, geometry, trigonometry, proba... [more]

I graduated with B.A. in Philosophy from U.C. Berkeley. I've taught informal and formal logic as part of DeCAL and privately. I've also published papers in undergraduate journals on first order logic paradoxes and classical logic. I've familiar with how to use computer programs for solving predicate/propositional logic equations. I've participated in nearly every form of academia, from being a student through college and Law school, to being a teacher and test prep tutor. I've been helping students for almost 10 years in subjects ranging from Math, English, Logic, Philosophy, History, Sociol [more]

Mastering proofs and analysis along with the formal logic behind mathematics has been a core part of my training in mathematics. I have tutored many students in the area of Math logic, and can help you or your child in this subject. I can help make understanding math logic easier by explaining how to set up proofs, what strategies to use when doing proofs, and what to look for and what to avoid. I have an undergraduate degree from CSU Fullerton in Mathematics and Statistics with a Finance Cognate. I helped run the Math tutoring lab for almost 5 years, and have been tutoring for longer than tha [more]
