As a math major, I made A's in several proof courses, including intro to real analysis, and real analysis. As a tutor my goal has always been to have a positive impact on the lives of the students with whom I work. No magic wand will put the power of learning solely in my hands, but students that come to me prepared to work will find me a valuable resource and an enthusiastic ally. I have been working in the Austin area as a tutor for over 20 years, and working with WyzAnt since 2008. I majored in math at UT-Austin, taking over 50 credit hours in math alone, as well as 50+ combined credit hour [more]

I first began learning formal logic in 6th grade. I've since seen and used it in my classes. It's important in computer science as a form of verification of programs that are correct, as an alternate approach to simply testing and fixing. Hello! I'm a 28 year-old with a teaching certificate from Texas State University. I have a master's in computer science from Texas State as well and got my bachelor's from Washington University in St Louis. Though my degrees are in CS, I also have a strong background in math and sciences, and even do some creative writing every once in a while. I've TA'd, su [more]

I have tutored and taught logic including critical thinking, sentential calculus, truth tables, validity and soundness, symbolic logic, and hypothesis testing. This is done with an eye toward argument reduction and used for debate purposes.I teach the concepts of reduction and expansion of argument for the purpose of testing validity and soundness. I teach the concepts of modus ponens and modus tolens I teach deductive and inductive reasoning. Initially I set the basis by insuring an understanding of the term truth as well as what is an axiom or a fallacy. I instruct syllogism creation and ana [more]

Currently I am teaching myself logic and discrete mathematics by reading textbooks. However, I have also found it useful to engage myself in puzzles from various other books and websites such as Brilliant.org or the book on logic puzzles: Satan, Cantor, and Infinity. At the moment I am studying from the book on Logic, Sets, and Functions by Daniel Bonevac, Nicholas M. Asher, and Robert C. Koons. In addition I have an associates in mathematics from Austin Community College and will be completing my dual bachelors in Physics and Astronomy at UT Austin within the next year. [more]

I took and passed a college course on logic. It included everything from fallacies to categorical logic to predicate logic to statement logic to induction and probability. I?ve always had a natural gift and aptitude for teaching and working with people, and I want to share my love for math and logic with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment, where we can spend time on what you need. I find that specifically when learning the ?STEM? fields, people ask ?Why do we need to know this?? To a math and science tutor, this just makes me sad. Both [more]

I am qualified to tutor Philosophy of Logic because I have passed the course at local college with grade of A. As an electrical engineer for past 13 years, I have applied logic in my critical thinking and problem solving and computer programming logic. Finally, when I was a tutor at the local community college I had tutored multiple students in the same course of Introduction to Philosophy of Logic that I took. I have a long history of tutoring math and science at Austin Community College in addition to working as an engineer, so I can understand the application of the math and science. But [more]

I have a strong background in Digital logic and Hardware design and computer engineering.I have had academic experience and I have taught most electronic and computer science courses such as C/C++ programming, Computer Network, and etc. for college level students. I graduated in MS degree in computer engineering. I have tutored hundreds of students in computer science and engineering over the past eight years. I worked in the UTSA where I earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I love teaching students that really want to learn and have set a goal. Math, digit [more]

I attended Gallaudet University in which I majored in Mathematics and minored in Philosophy. Logic was a required course to obtain the minor. I also took Advanced Logic in which I got an A. I am a proficient and native user of sign language. I have experience in teaching American Sign Language as I have taught the subject at the college level as well as have tutored so many students in the language. I have such a passion about this beautiful and expressive language as I desire to help those who truly have an interest in the language become fluent in the language with a great understanding of t [more]

I received training in logic primarily through proofs in mathematics classes taken at UT-Austin. I also received some additional training from philosophy classes on symbolic logic and Godel's Incompleteness Theorem. I tutored all levels of undergraduate mathematics at UT-Austin for 7 years, through UT's Learning Skills Center. My experience includes tutoring both engineering and business calculus students, as well as students in differential equations. However, I also have helped students in pre-calculus, linear algebra, college algebra, and survey math courses outside of the sciences. [more]

I'm a PhD in Mathematics and am preparing to teach a course, including Mathematical Logic. I've already prepared this part of my course. Now, I can tutor Logic. I'm a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics, a Research Professor. I'm the CEO of Math Consulting. I taught Math, Physics, and Science at a high school. I taught at the Moscow State University, at the Institute for Theoretical & Experimental Physics in Moscow, Russia, at the University of Texas at Austin, at the University of Phoenix, at the Academy of Health Care Professions, at the ITT-tech Institute, at the Austin Communit [more]
