Logic factored heavily into my studies as I completed my BA in Mathematics at CCSU. I studied logical statements in Discrete Math, and applied logic to construct exhaustive proofs in classes such as Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Advanced Geometry, and my senior capstone, Seminar in Proof. I have also applied logic in philosophy classes. I am a high school math teacher at a prestigious charter school in New Haven. My method is constructive - I assess the degree of comfort that a student has with the material first, then build on that understanding progressively. I have also helped many [more]

I have worked with and taught logic, in a variety of forms, since the 1970?s. As a student, I mastered the specifics behind inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning, and soon able to tutor other students in these disciplines. In the decades since that time, I have taken every opportunity to not only apply these techniques to data analysis and computer programming, but also to educate others in the techniques. Hi, my name is Steve, and I have enjoyed teaching for decades. Each individual student is entitled to a personal commitment from every tutor: to identify the challenge facing the stu [more]

My degree in higher mathematic enables me to be able to tutor logic. Because this is such an abstract class, patience and understanding is greatly required to do so. I took a logic class my freshman year in college and continued working with these abstract math qualities through my next three years. I am a current graduate of King's College with a degree in mathematics. I am also a certified teacher currently teaching Algebra I and Geometry. My love for teaching and helping students succeed is why I got into teaching and is why I would like to continue that passion with tutoring. The firs [more]

I passed a grad level logic course at central Connecticut state university with no issues. I have also studied logic and the operators extensively as I am a senior at central Connecticut state university. I'm a college student at CCSU and MCC. I understand the complexity of mathematics and how to break it down and simplify it so that anyone can understand it as well. I have experience in tutoring college students and high school level students. I'm confident that you or your child will understand the rationality of mathematics because the secret to understanding math lies within your m [more]

I am a former Philosophy major, as listed. As a part of obtaining my degree, I was required to take courses that concentrated heavily on Informal Logic ( Verbal) Reasoning. In fact, I wrote many philosophical academic term papers that were infused with all forms of traditional logic, including ad hominem attacks, inductive and deductive argumentation, fallacious arguments and reasoning, and tearing apart others' arguments because of faulty logic. In addition, this skill was built upon in law school when we studied trial practice and procedure, the art of questioning, rhetoric, cross examinatio [more]

I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics. To receive the Ph.D. one must be precise and logical. I have taken numerous logic courses. These courses include Deductive and Inductive Reasoning and Predicate Calculus. I teach Discrete Math, which includes truth tables and other logic topics. I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a specialty in Number Theory. I have tutored and taught for many years. I currently teach online at schools in Alabama, Maryland, New Hampshire, and Texas. I have tutored at the high school level. I have taught at the high school level. I have published math articles in national journals [more]

Basic Logic Skills are crucial for understanding Euclidean Geometry proofs and for understanding Venn Diagrams in Probability and in Computer Science. I have taught and tutored logic at the high school level as it is part of the standard math curriculum in both NY state and CT. As a math major in college (Although as a course for math majors, it was an elective which I did not take.), I was required to know logic for the first chapter in multiple upper division mathematics classes such as Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, and/or Non-Euclidean Geometry. Topics we could cover would include: con [more]

With a degree in computer engineering and minor in computer science, I have taken five logic math and circuits courses. I graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute with Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering with minors in Math and Computer Science. I also hold a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 3.7 GPA, Concentration in Electrical Power System, along with a Graduate Certificate in Power System and Electronics from NYU-POLY in Brooklyn NY. I was attending NYU-POLY as a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering. However, due to my curren [more]

In pursuing my Mathematics degree in college, I excelled in many course involving rigorous mathematical proofs and logical reasoning. Among these courses are Philosophy of Logic, Symbolic Logic, Discrete Math, Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, and Hyperbolic Geometry. I also achieved scores greater than average on the Putnam Mathematical Competition for several years, which is known to be an exceptionally difficult exam which relies heavily on the application of symbolic logic and sound reasoning. Additionally, I have tutored 200+ hours in various mathematics courses, often focusing on providin [more]
