I taught Contemporary Math at Bergen Community College. This class included a chapter on Logic. I also received a grade of "A" in a course called "Theory of Sets". This was a graduate level course and it was the second semester of a course called "Set Theory and Logic" Hello. I hope you are doing well. I have the skills, education, and experience to help you meet your academic goals. I earned both a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and a Masters of Arts in Mathematics. After earning my degrees I became an Adjunct Mathematics Professor where my students told me that I explained the material so [more]

Logic used to be part of the NYS Geometry curriculum and it was on the NYS regents exam. I've taught logic for 6 years. I've been teaching for nearly 10 years - I began at a Catholic Prep school for 5 years and then I taught at a public school in Massachusetts. I've also worked at the Massachusetts DOE where I wrote and edited the math MCAS exams (similar to the NYS Regents exams) and helped edit the PARCC exams. I enjoy teaching and helping students understand and master challenging topics. Former students say that I can explain things really well, that I break things down into step-b [more]

In obtaining my BS in mathematics, I was required to complete a "transition to higher math" course. This course included the basic concepts of logic, stressing those necessary to do mathematical proofs. In completing my master's degree in math (Binghamton University), as well as in PhD courses I have taken at Penn State and Binghamton U, I have continued to put these concepts of logic into practice. In addition, I have taught many aspects of logic in college courses on Discrete Math (at Penn State Wilkes-Barre) and Finite Math (at Penn State University Park) These courses included basic pr [more]

I have taught Digital Electronics at ITT Technical Institute and I have been an Electrical Engineer for 34 years. I am thoroughly familiar with the use of logic in digital state machines, software, and automatons. I have also utilized Boolean ladder logic in programmable controllers used for real-time machine control. I feel more than capable in tutoring students in logic. I am a retired engineer from Eastman Kodak who has worked with digital imaging and computer connectivity. I am co-developer of the USB interface that connects digital still cameras to the PC. Currently I am an adjunct ins [more]

In the last few years I have taught several undergraduate math courses that included mathematical logic as major components. I have tutored both high school and undergraduate students in mathematical logic. I took advanced mathematical logic in undergrad, and basic logic skills are math skills that I use across all subjects I teach. I am passionate about teaching mathematics to all different types of students at all levels. I can tutor both lower level and high level mathematics course material, having earned my PhD in the subject in 2015. I have been tutoring math for over 12 years. I am [more]

I am qualified to teach this subject area because I am certified as a teacher by New York State in the areas of childhood education and students with disabilities. I have taught science and math on many occasions and I taught fourth grade in which the New York state science exam was given. I am familiar with observations, experimentation, math calculations, and using logic and reasoning to determine and make sense of the unknown. My name is Lauren Dykstra and I have been teaching for five years now. I taught second, fifth, and fourth grade in the South Bronx in a charter school for three years [more]

While obtaining my Mathematics degree, I have taken several courses using advanced predicate logic. Moreover, as a mathematician, I continuously work with rigorous logic in my Hopf algebra and permutation prime research. It was my job as an academic tutor to help students work through mathematical logic difficulties. As for verbal logic, I was trained through the National Forensics League in many verbal logical strategies and fallacies. This culminated in a national best speaker award for the league. [more]

Logic is the study of the truth values of combined statements. A statement is either true or false in our English language, there is no middle ground or maybe. When two statements are combined by conjunctions, disjunctions, implications, or if and only if, a truth table can be constructed listing the possibilities for each statement and the truth value of the combined statement. Logic helps us reason things out better. Geometry uses this truth value system as a basis for setting up logic proofs. I have taught logic to high school and college students for many years with great success. I have [more]

Logic is a branch of mathematics. It also plays a significant role in electronics. In light of the fact that I possess a 4 year degree in electrical engineering and a graduate degree in math ed, I have had considerable experience with this subject matter. Also, in my geometry classes an entire chapter was devoted to logic, which I taught. Hello, I am a certified math teacher for grades 7-12 (New York State as well as an experienced engineer having worked for GE consumer electronics and medical equipment manufacturers. My strength lies in my ability to describe math clearly and to connect [more]

I teach New York State Geometry which contains a unit of logic. I have successfully taught this course for the last 3 years. I was also a math major in college which required me to utilize the logic for various courses including computer programming. With 21 years of tutoring experience in math/science and 7 years of public middle and high school teaching experience I feel I have a unique approach which will suit the needs of the student regardless of ability or age. My main focus is to provide the student with multiple ways of learning the material so that it makes sense and is completely un [more]
