I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree specializing in computer science. I have been in the software industry for over 25 years and have programmed professionally, on and off, throughout my career. Since the mathematical branch of logic is critical for computer programming I have used it extensively, academically, professionally and personally for close to 30 years. I am a married (over 30 years!) father of two wonderful daughters (23 and 28) and have enjoyed working with children and young adults since I was a teenager. I put myself through school by tutoring elementary and high school st [more]

I have taught many students the concepts and applications of mathematical logic. Topics include, but are not limited to, truth tables and Venn diagrams which I've applied to solving word problems that involve building a two-dimensional table and by the process of elimination determine which situations are and are not possible. I've also taught students set theory including intersection and union. I have been a math and computer science tutor since 2009 and have worked with over 100 students individually. My students range from elementary school to high school seniors. I tailor each lesson [more]

I have taken a number of math and computer sciences that utilize logic. These include data structures, foundations of mathematics (intro real analysis), and algorithms. I have graded papers for the data structures course the semester after I had taken it. I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota in the College of Science and Engineering. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. I have a great deal of experience tutoring math. For all four years of college, I was a teaching assistant for the University of Minnesota Talented Youths Ma [more]

I took formal logic and metalogic at Kent State and got A's both times. I took metalogic, logic seminar on completeness and computability, and set theory at the University of Washington, earning a 4.0, 4.0 and 3.6, respectively. I have taught introduction to logic and critical thinking at UW and Cascadia Community College and have written an introductory formal logic textbook currently in beta testing. I specialize in standardized tests, especially SAT, ACT and LSAT. Although I generally consider myself a mathematician, having studied and taught philosophy at UW for seven years, I also have [more]

I have taught 8 years of math, 4 in 5th grade and 4 in the middle school. I completed my undergraduate degree at Washington State University. I earned my masters in curriculum, assessment, and instruction from Walden university. I am considered highly qualified per the Lake Washington School District in Math, Reading, writing, social studies, and science. I have a Masters from Walden University and a degree in Elementary Education from Washington State University. I have eight years of teaching in the Suburbs of Seattle, Washington. The first four years of my career I thought 5th grade at [more]

Having studied and worked extensively in engineering, I have a strong grasp of concepts in Logic and Boolean Algebra. I am also trained in areas of computer science, specifically machine learning and data science, which uses logic both in the written and mathematical forms to make real-life decisions. I underwent rigorous self-training for the reasoning tests in the GRE and have gathered knowledge in this area that I would love to pass on. Hi young and young-at-heart learners! I'm a chemical engineering masters graduate from the University of Washington Seattle. I started tutoring on Wyzant be [more]

I taught Introduction to Logic at Western Michigan University and Bellevue College (WA) for many quarters. I generally covered truth-functional, propositional, and predicate logic, sometimes getting as far as using the identity symbol. I also taught Critical Thinking from time to time, and am adept at the use of Aristotelian Venn Diagrams and syllogistic logic. I used to tutor this subject at Bellevue College (WA) and Washington State University, when I was taking my undergraduate degree. I have a PhD from the University of Miami. I began tutoring when I was a freshman in college. I primarily [more]

I studied logic at Bellevue College in high school. I have tutored several logic students. I maintain my proficiency with quiz questions from a math website. I studied a variety of fields while pursuing my degree in Chemical Engineering. I am a skilled tutor with more than 5,000 hours of experience tutoring or teaching. I studied a variety of fields, while pursuing my Chemical Engineering degree. I became a tutorial instructor, because I am excited to see people learn. I was a tutor, through college. I always studied for depth with the intent to teach what I learned. It is common for my stude [more]

I discovered my love for logic in high school when I spent an entire summer immersing myself in theoretical math, proving obscure facts like 1+1=2. In geometry I aced all the proof quizzes and found it easy to apply to calculus and physics as well. Even now my favorite puzzles are logic equations, even if they are in the form of circuits these days. As an engineering program manager for 15 years, and with an MIT degree to boot, I know my fair share of math and science, having taken Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology AP II. It all started when my algebra teacher sent me to math camp and [more]

[You hire a great logic tutor] --> [You will improve your study of logic and enjoy the process of learning!] [I am a great logic tutor] ---------------------------------------------------------------- [You hire me] --> [You will improve your study of logic and enjoy the process of learning!] I earned an A+ in Logic (Philosophy 101) in college and continued on to excel in several upper level Philosophy courses. I scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT (law school entrance exam that tests logical reasoning). I enjoy analyzing arguments and crafting only those that are consistent, valid, comp [more]
