Logic factored heavily into my studies as I completed my BA in Mathematics at CCSU. I studied logical statements in Discrete Math, and applied logic to construct exhaustive proofs in classes such as Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Advanced Geometry, and my senior capstone, Seminar in Proof. I have also applied logic in philosophy classes. I am a high school math teacher at a prestigious charter school in New Haven. My method is constructive - I assess the degree of comfort that a student has with the material first, then build on that understanding progressively. I have also helped many [more]

Logic is an inherent component of all mathematics which I utilize on a daily basis in my teaching and professional careers. In 2009, I gave a presentation in logic at the EPADEL (Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware) Mathematics Association of America meeting in Gettysburg, PA which focused on creating your own axiomatic (logic-based) system. I have always been interested in math, even as a child; in late high school, I realized that teaching was my calling and even since I have enjoyed learning, teaching, tutoring, and explaining mathematics. A native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, I graduated s [more]

I have taught math courses in symbolic logic, as well as taken a course on Socratic Logic in philosophy. I can teach and assess the validity or soundness of arguments and analyze fallacies. I have fluency with both predicate and first-order logic, and experience with second-order logic. I can also relate logic to computer science as represented in circuit design with transistors. My experience with teaching covers a wide range, with classroom experience from kindergarten to undergraduates in college, and tutoring from middle school to graduate school. My students have consistently reported a p [more]

My degree in higher mathematic enables me to be able to tutor logic. Because this is such an abstract class, patience and understanding is greatly required to do so. I took a logic class my freshman year in college and continued working with these abstract math qualities through my next three years. I am a current graduate of King's College with a degree in mathematics. I am also a certified teacher currently teaching Algebra I and Geometry. My love for teaching and helping students succeed is why I got into teaching and is why I would like to continue that passion with tutoring. The firs [more]

I currently teach at Quinnipiac and logic is one of the topics we cover in the college Course Math 110 Mathematical Connections. I feel comfortable teaching a basic logic course. I have a Masters from Florida State and a degree in Mathematics from Providence College. I have been teaching since 2005. I worked in a high school setting from 2005 to 2016 and transitioned to also teaching college where I am now full time in 2015. I love teaching Math not because I am a math genius but I believe I have the ability to present the material in a variety of ways. This makes it easy for me to help s [more]

As a Philosophy major at Brown University, I passed a rigorous formal logic class. I also studied logic and techniques for solving logic problems when studying for the LSAT, on which I scored a 168. I am familiar with formal logic as well as logical problem types found on standardized tests. Hello. I am a Connecticut native having passed through the Fairfield public school system and attending Hopkins School for high school. I am a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Philosophy as well as a graduate of Fordham University Law School. I have spent most of my professional life working [more]

I passed a grad level logic course at central Connecticut state university with no issues. I have also studied logic and the operators extensively as I am a senior at central Connecticut state university. I'm a college student at CCSU and MCC. I understand the complexity of mathematics and how to break it down and simplify it so that anyone can understand it as well. I have experience in tutoring college students and high school level students. I'm confident that you or your child will understand the rationality of mathematics because the secret to understanding math lies within your m [more]

With a degree in computer engineering and minor in computer science, I have taken five logic math and circuits courses. I graduated from SUNY Polytechnic Institute with Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering with minors in Math and Computer Science. I also hold a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 3.7 GPA, Concentration in Electrical Power System, along with a Graduate Certificate in Power System and Electronics from NYU-POLY in Brooklyn NY. I was attending NYU-POLY as a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering. However, due to my curren [more]

In pursuing my Mathematics degree in college, I excelled in many course involving rigorous mathematical proofs and logical reasoning. Among these courses are Philosophy of Logic, Symbolic Logic, Discrete Math, Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, and Hyperbolic Geometry. I also achieved scores greater than average on the Putnam Mathematical Competition for several years, which is known to be an exceptionally difficult exam which relies heavily on the application of symbolic logic and sound reasoning. Additionally, I have tutored 200+ hours in various mathematics courses, often focusing on providin [more]

In my undergraduate and graduate studies in mathematics, I was trained to write numerous formal mathematical proof, using logic with math theorems, postulates, definitions, and properties. As a teacher, I have taught logic skills, in the form of 2-column proof writing, in multiple levels of geometry. Hi all! I have been teaching math and tutoring all high school math subjects for a decade. I love tutoring for the one on one experience is very rewarding to both the student and me. My schooling has been through a strong mathematics study. My undergraduate degree is in mathemati [more]
