I have been using MATLAB extensively in my graduate research and have rich experience in this programming language. I have also taught Octave (a programming language very similar to MATLAB) as a student assistant before. I have BS and MS degrees in Math and a PhD degree in Statistics. In the United States I have taught 6 years as a teaching assistant. Courses include Calculus, Elementary Statistics, Probability, Sampling, etc. I really enjoy working with students and answering their questions. It's my pleasure to work as a tutor and help students.... [more]

I use MATLAB every day as part of academic research. I am fluent in writing functions and scripts in MATLAB. I have mentored fellow students in developing MATLAB programs, and have tutored students in MATLAB as well. I have taken college level courses in MATLAB. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Chicago. I have extensive training in math, physics, and science subjects from my undergraduate and graduate schools. I graduated with a B.S. in Physics from the University of Southern California with a 3.9 GPA, and currently have a 4.0 GPA at the University of Chicago in a medical [more]

I have a Masters Degree in Mathematical Modeling and Scientific Computing with Distinction from Oxford University. I used MATLAB throughout my graduate studies and most of my Masters thesis was done with MATLAB. Since then, for the past twelve years I have used MATLAB for various research projects relating generally to mathematical modeling within the field of medicine. I am experienced not only with basic functions within MATLAB but also more advanced functions as well as writing software in MATLAB. I worked for a trading firm in downtown Chicago for two years writing algorithms in MATLAB. Fi [more]

As an engineer it is natural to use tools such as MATLAB to solve numerical problems. I use it daily when tutoring for quick calculations of anything from simple number crunching to matrices/linear algebra solutions. I also use MATLAB to write scripts to solve more complicated problems that need more than a few command line calculations. Math and science were my favorite subjects throughout my formal schooling and I can help any student improve their knowledge in these courses by helping them enjoy the subjects rather than be intimidated by them. What are my credentials? I have a BS and MS i [more]

My first job in the U.S. was as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate computer science class CS 310 "Problem Solving Using Computers", geared towards engineering students, at UW-Madison. Numeric computation was taught using MATLAB. Also, I taught CS 412 "Introduction to Numerical Methods" at UW-Madison, which was entirely taught in MATLAB. Finally, as part of my doctoral dissertation, I designed and developed a simulator using MATLAB. This tutor earned his bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating with honors. He had a perfect score on his Math GRE and continued his studies a [more]

Starting in my junior year of undergrad I joined a biomedical engineering research lab. I was in charge of writing MATLAB code in order to analyze physiological data. In February of this year my first author paper was published with all results calculated using my MATLAB coding. Another paper was published that I coauthored that utilized some of my MATLAB programming. I am currently working towards my PhD in Biomedical Engineering. I plan on having my own research lab as well as teaching coursework at the college level and mentoring undergraduate/graduate students. I feel that teaching at the [more]

Every engineering student at Northwestern University is required to take MatLab in their first quarter. Students are then expected to regularly use MatLab in the following three quarters of that sequence. My average grade for the sequence was a A-, and I never received a grade lower than a B+. Furthermore, in my major, Material Science and Engineering, a MatLab project or assignment was included in the majority of my required classes to improved our proficiency and use of computational tools. I have a firm belief that the future of all engineering endeavors requires the use and development [more]

I have my BS in Physics, which involved learning and project use of MATLAB. I have done a lot of data analysis in MATLAB for my PhD in Material Science, using smoothing functions to properly plot scattered data. I also have be endorsed by those working in Military Defense and Aerospace for my MATLAB skills. I have tutored Math and Physics every year as TA when I was in College through the academic center, and at the IIT Chicago ARC center for 2 years of my PhD program. The math involved with a physics degree includes intensive use of derivatives, chain rule, concepts from Calc I (High School [more]

I have a Masters Degree in Applied & Computational Mathematics. We use MATLAB extensively in this field. While a grad student, I helped other students with their MATLAB assignments and was the MATLAB programmer on group assignments. I have 35 years of programming experience and educational background with MATLAB. I have always been good at math and computers. In junior high school, I started competing in math competitions and doing very well, usually placing in the top 25-100 in the state of Michigan throughout high school. I tutored math in college, and am able to find many ways to help a stu [more]

I have performed various control systems and electromagnetics calculations, including an electromagnetic impedance matching .m file for my Michigan State University undergraduate EE curriculum. I have used Simulink proficiently for Digital Nonlinear Control in a laboratory setting for inverted pendulum control, and z transform calculations. MATLAB has been particularly useful in my private research into nonlinear induction motor control research. I tutored all the way up to a senior level linear algebra course at the Michigan State University Math Learning Center for two years. I then applied [more]
