I took a one quarter class entirely on Matlab. ENGR 240 was the number, I learned about numerical methods in general and applied those problem solving skills using the Matlab program. Skills used involve Newton's method, numerical differentiation, numerical integration, and data interpolation using splines and differentiation. I'm currently a graduate Seattle University. My cumulative GPA is 3.94, I have gotten a 4.0 in every college-level math class I've taken. I have been tutoring for over 5 years now and truly enjoy getting others excited about the world of mathematics and science. I ha [more]

I am a mechanical engineer with extensive experience using MATLAB to develop solutions to a variety of engineering analysis problems. I have used MATLAB as a government contractor developing detailed scripts to calculate pressure distributions on finned vehicles. More recently, I used MATLAB for an extensive study of fuel reactions, emissions, temperatures, and energy release. In my current role, as a professor of engineering, I have been teaching MATLAB to a variety of college students that use it for many levels of engineering problem solving. [more]

As an engineering student, I have used MATLAB extensively for applications ranging from computational data analysis, numerical methods, biomechanical design, heat exchanger design, and uncertainty analysis. I feel comfortable teaching both basic principles and advanced techniques. Although MATLAB's capabilities are broad, we will work together to troubleshoot code and problem-solve ways of accomplishing necessary tasks. I am a mechanical engineer, in my third year of working towards a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and am an experienced tutor in the areas of math, science, and engine [more]

I have used MATLAB for a number of courses in my undergraduate career. These include an electrical engineering course in biology, functional genomics, and dynamical systems. In those courses I have helped classmates with their MATLAB code. I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota in the College of Science and Engineering. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. I have a great deal of experience tutoring math. For all four years of college, I was a teaching assistant for the University of Minnesota Talented Youths Mathematics Progra [more]

I used Matlab extensively during my PhD and postdoctoral experience to analyze data and run simulations. I occasionally helped new students in our lab learn Matlab. I have a Master's in Biology and have experience teaching introductory biology to majors and non-majors at the college level. Plus, I used to teach swimming to young children when I was in college. Since different students learn at different paces, I tailor my instruction to match the student's pace for one-on-one instruction. I have a good understanding of basic algebra, and used it both academically and professionally. I l [more]

I started learning MATLAB in my Calculus classes. I don't really think of it as a skill anymore. It's a pervasively useful item on my desktop. Teaching MATLAB is basically a user friendly version of teaching any programming framework. There's syntax and data structure. But most important is the Help Menu! It works (unlike most programs) and provides insight, too. I find teaching MATLAB kind of like going to a playground. It's a lot of fun (results are easy to demonstrate) and there are a bunch of really neat toys (programs, etc.) already there for you and your student to play with. [more]

I've been an avid MATLAB developer since college. My experience with MATLAB spans many sectors of software development, including system administrative tasks, executing algorithms, troubleshooting code, and maintaining GUIs. As a Research Assistant at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, I currently develop programs analyzing fMRI imaging data using MATLAB and other languages that interface with MATLAB. To all potential students of mine, I will be delighted to help you towards whichever goal you'd like to achieve from getting tutoring, whether it's for school, a certification exam, or even a personal pro [more]

I have taken and excelled in several courses either solely focused on MatLab's functionality, or on a particular subject wherein the coursework was heavily dependent on developing further MatLab proficiency. I have years of experience in MatLab coding and debugging with expertise in numerical calculus. I have also used MatLab in the areas of aerodynamics, differential and partial differential equations, linear algebra, etc., with great success. *Between my time tutoring at Seattle Central College, Seattle University, through Wyzant, and my private tutoring, I now have over 1,000 hours of tutor [more]

Matlab is an interpreted language cum tool for solving complex mathematical problems. It is highly optimized for numeric computations. It allows one to perform numerical calculations much faster compared to programming languages like C, C++ and Java. We can visualize the results using graph plotting. I have been using Matlab software to solve mathematical problems such as Linear equations, non-linear equations, First order differential equations, second order differential equations. I have been using matrix-vector operations, array operations, and complex arithmetic. During college studies a [more]
