I taught Matlab, Excel, and VBA to classes of approximately 30 engineering sophomores at University of Houston for three semesters. Concepts covered basic and advanced math, data representation, custom functions, if statements, loops, etc. I graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. One of the classes I excelled in was Computing for Engineers. This class teaches students how to use MATLAB, Excel, and VBA to solve engineering problems. I really enjoyed the class and my success was largely due to having a good lab instructor. I decided to become a l [more]

I received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering and completed a postdoc in Aerospace Engineering. Ever since I was at my undergrad school I have used MATLAB for many projects. I have published more than 20 book chapter/journal/conference papers with extensive use of MATLAB. I have taught students in Engineering and helped then have a quick start and get their hands dirty with this easy-to-use engineering package. I am a certified tutor for Math, Physics, and Mechanical Engineering for high school, SAT, and college. I received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering and came to Texas A&M as a postdoc. I e [more]

I received an A grade in CHEE 1331: Computing for Engineers (A MATLAB, Excel and Fortran course) at the University of Houston. I have since used MATLAB throughout my undergraduate and graduate career as a tool for solving problems, plotting, analyzing data and performing basic numerical procedures. When I have taught peers how to use MATLAB, I have done so through buddy coding and writing sample code. Notice for those viewing my profile: I have been displaced due to Hurricane Harvey. I now tutor in the mornings near the University of Houston and in the evenings in Katy. Hello! I'm Ethan P., a [more]

During my time as a Chemical Engineer, I developed a strong interest in coding. In my final year, I took a graduate course titled 'Computational Method 2', in which we focused on MATLAB and C++. For MATLAB, I trained a neural network to predict 4 values of steam given inputs of temperature and pressure using gradient descent. I am a chemical engineer that tutored during my time in university. I explain concepts clearly and concisely, often using simple terms to make sense of difficult concepts. I am patient and will ensure that the student has absorbed the subject matter before moving on to mo [more]

I have 2-3 years' experience in using MATLAB. At the University of Florida, I took a course called numerical methods, which used MATLAB to solve iterative math problems that were otherwise to time consuming or impossible using hand methods. I was one of the few to receive an A in the class. Also, I used MATLAB in my thermo-fluids lab class to develop an optimization program that would design a pump system that took into account multiple parameters. The program in MATLAB then performed thousands of operations to calculate different values while iterating through the different parameters. This p [more]

I took an introductory course in MATLAB during my undergraduate curriculum and received an A in the course. I have used MATLAB extensively throughout my engineering undergraduate curriculum and continue to use it whenever I need to perform engineering calculations. I have a good knowledge of MATLAB's specific syntax and matrix indexing features, including image manipulation operations. I recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with minors in Chemistry and Classical Studies. I was also the Latin tutor for my universit [more]
