UW Mechanical Eng. Student for Math, Physics, and Engineering Tutoring

As an engineering student, I have used MatLab extensively for applications ranging from data analysis, biomechanical design, heat exchanger design, and uncertainty analysis. I feel comfortable teaching both basic principles and advanced techniques. This is one of my strongest subjects I am a mechanical engineering student, in my second year of working towards my PhD at the University of Washington, and am an experienced tutor in the areas of math, science, and engineering. I did my undergraduate studies at Lafayette College in Easton, PA, and graduated at the top of my class due to my commitme [more]

Experienced Math and Physics Tutor

I started learning MATLAB in my Calculus classes. I don't really think of it as a skill anymore. It's a pervasively useful item on my desktop. Teaching MATLAB is basically a user friendly version of teaching any programming framework. There's syntax and data structure. But most important is the Help Menu! It works (unlike most programs) and provides insight, too. I find teaching MATLAB kind of like going to a playground. It's a lot of fun (results are easy to demonstrate) and there are a bunch of really neat toys (programs, etc.) already there for you and your student to play with. [more]

Biology and chemistry tutor

I used Matlab extensively during my PhD and postdoctoral experience to analyze data and run simulations. I occasionally helped new students in our lab learn Matlab. I have a Master's in Biology and have experience teaching introductory biology to majors and non-majors at the college level. Plus, I used to teach swimming to young children when I was in college. Since different students learn at different paces, I tailor my instruction to match the student's pace for one-on-one instruction. I have a good understanding of basic algebra, and used it both academically and professionally. I l [more]

Expertise in programming, video editing, & multimedia

I've been an avid MATLAB developer since college. My experience with MATLAB spans many sectors of software development, including system administrative tasks, executing algorithms, troubleshooting code, and maintaining GUIs. As a Research Assistant at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, I currently develop programs analyzing fMRI imaging data using MATLAB and other languages that interface with MATLAB. To all potential students of mine, I will be delighted to help you towards whichever goal you'd like to achieve from getting tutoring, whether it's for school, a certification exam, or even a personal pro [more]

very patient and enthusiastic tutor!

I have a master's degree in civil engineering. I used Matlab in my research work a lot. I developed several code to calculate the building motion cause by earthquake. I also developed the code Stochastic differential equation which is relative to concentrate distribution in water. I am currently working as an engineer after receiving my master's degree in Engineering. I worked as a tutor, teaching and research assistant for 3 years. I love teaching math, science and Japanese language. I would describe myself as a patient and enthusiastic tutor. Any student who need help for math, science and [more]

Passionate Tutor in Applied Math and Science

I'm a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington, I use Matlab almost daily. Currently I'm using Matlab in simulations of air flow to power wind turbines and heat flows in thermal transfer problems. I also come to Matlab with more computer science experience than the typical mechanical engineer, having gone through the first two years of a CS undergraduate degree in determining my undergraduate focus, so I can teach best practices and provide more context for why certain practices are the way they are in Matlab as compared to, say, Java. Experienced Java, Math, and Calculus Tutor

Matlab is an interpreted language cum tool for solving complex mathematical problems. It is highly optimized for numeric computations. It allows one to perform numerical calculations much faster compared to programming languages like C, C++ and Java. We can visualize the results using graph plotting. I have been using Matlab software to solve mathematical problems such as Linear equations, non-linear equations, First order differential equations, second order differential equations. I have been using matrix-vector operations, array operations, and complex arithmetic. During college studies a [more]
