I work with Matlab daily in my work. I am a PhD Applied Mathematician with teaching and tutoring experience at all levels. I also have Master's Degrees in both Mathematics and Electrical Engineering and over 40 years of experience, mostly in scientific research, but also in academia. I look forward to working with you to build your confidence and ability. Attitude is everything, and I KNOW you can master what it takes to succeed, consistent with your own goals and needs.... I have been programming for around four years (one full year of coursework, three research based), and MATLAB is the primary language used in my PhD research. I have two bachelor's degrees, one in Applied Mathematics and one in Earth Science. I am currently attending Brown university to obtain a PhD in Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences with a focus in oceanography. For mathematics, my strengths are in calculus, linear algebra and ODE/PDE. For earth science, I generally focus on global climate and weather as well as physical oceanography. My experience in these courses has been deve [more]

While a graduate student at MIT during the past 4 of 5 years I used MATLAB on a daily basis to process and analyze my data. This included calling statistical functions, graphing capabilities, Simulink controls tool, and creating custom functions. Additionally I am very familiar with the use of MATLAB in educational settings. Born in Colombia, but I grew up in Miami, speaking both English and Spanish. During high school I would tutor math in the afternoons. While at the University of Florida, I tutored Physics, Circuits, and other engineering classes for two years total. My sessions were usuall [more]

I've been programming in MatLab since 1997. In fact, these days, besides some scripting languages and the occasional Excel, I only program in MatLab. Very familiar with the mapping and statistics toolboxes among others. If you are looking for someone to help you where others have failed, or if you just want the best, then I'm definitely your tutor. Key focus must be on the student overcoming any mental barriers he/she may have to understanding the subjects. I teach concepts first and test taking second. If you know the concepts, the test results follow, but test taking strategies are also [more]

For 5 semesters I was a Teaching Assistant for Cornell's Introduction to MATLAB course, which I took myself as a freshman. That course taught applications ranging from introductory topics (scripts, functions, conditional statements, for/while loops, vector/matrix operations) to more advanced material (image/video/sound processing, text file processing, recursion, sorting and searching algorithms, object oriented programming). As a TA I regularly interacted with students during computer lab sessions and during office hours to provide individual assistance. I later took advanced courses on MATL [more]

I've been a MATLAB user for 21 years, since my undergraduate days. I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, and I have many years of experience using MATLAB to solve problems. I also know quite a bit about how to speed up MATLAB programs by taking advantage of the profiling tools and also by writing MEX files in C. I do GUI development also. I'm a very adaptable tutor, and I really enjoy helping people in general, and making math and science feel less intimidating, even for grad students and professionals ? there really is no subject that can't be made more accessible with clear explanations [more]

I have used MATLAB for about 10 years. I started to use MATLAB in my undergraduate studies for solving differential equations. I also used MATLAB/Simulink in graduate school for modeling dynamic systems. Outside of school, I have used MATLAB at my job for analyzing large data sets and have taught colleagues how to use its basic functions as well. Hello! I'm glad that you're considering me to help you learn. Here's a little bit of information about me that will hopefully help you in your decision making: As a proud 2011 graduate of Purdue University in Aerospace Engineering and a 2015 Pen [more]

I teach several courses at MIT; one of them is MATLAB, Statistics, Regression and Signal Processing. It's taught every fall and in matlab. I am Scientist at MIT, with a background and preparation in engineering, applied mathematics, physics and computer science. I earned a doctorate in computer science in 2002. I have been mentoring, advising and teaching high school, undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students for over 12 years. I formally teach at computational science and signal processing subjects MIT, and prior to that I have taught at other universities. Most recently, I won the [more]

I've been using Matlab for over eight years since I started my master's degree in financial math at University of Chicago. Since then, I've done numerous projects in Matlab both academically and professionally while working as a Desk Quant at Hedge Funds. In many ways, properly using and understanding Matlab parallels my knowledge of linear algebra. Once one understands how to set up a problem using vectors and matrices, Matlab makes it easy to "take it from there". Private Math, Physics, Statistics Tutoring on ALL LEVELS! Promise to show ?beyond the cookbook? solutions for any problem --- [more]

I have spent an extensive amount of time scripting with the MATLAB language and using the development environment for my senior honors thesis. I built a self-contained numerical/mathematical model in MATLAB to test a geophysical hypothesis. MATLAB is my strongest programming language. I'm a graduate of Dartmouth College with majors in Physics and Earth Sciences and programming experience in the Python, MATLAB, and C/C++ languages. Currently, I'm a Ph.D. student at Harvard in the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department. I've been consistently surprised by how much I enjoy tutoring my favorite [more]
