My main area of expertise is mathematics but I am available for tutoring physics as well. I have a degree in math. I was top of my class in calculus 1, calculus 3 and linear algebra. I have studied physics extensively, 3 semesters at a university level which encompassed everything from kinematics and motion to electricity and magnetism to relativity and quantum physics. I have been tutoring for 10 years. In high school I tutored math and chemistry. Since then I have been independently tutori... [more]

I received my Bachelors of Science in Physics from UCI, since that time I have been the primary Physics teacher at the Army and Navy Academy for the past few years. I also teach the AP class. I am very familiar with the subject and where students have difficulty with it. I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is no [more]

I am a Teaching Assistant for UCSD in both Physics and Math. I have a B.S. in Physics from UCSB. I have experience as a high school Science Olympiad coach, a high school tutor for physics and math, and a teaching assisant for physics and multivariable calculus at the university level. I like to take an "inverted pyramid" approach, in which I emphasize a strong grasp of a fundamental concepts of a subject (i.e. Newton's Laws, Kinematics Equations, Maxwell's Equations) and have them apply it to a wide range of problems. I like tutoring as not only does it reinforce my current knowledge ... [more]

I graduated with my degree in Physics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I then stayed for an additional year to get my teaching credential. I am currently a high school Physics teacher and absolutely love my job. What I enjoy most about my job is having the opportunity to help students realize their maximum potential in all aspects of life--academic or not. My goal for all students is improvement. I focus on the implementation and fostering of a growth mindset. By approaching all lesso... [more]

BS degree in Physics 3 Years of tutoring freshman/sophomore physics at my university 1 Year of teaching high school. I tutored freshman and sophomore undergraduate physics classes at my university for three years. I then taught math and science classes as a high school teacher and tutored high school students in the evenings. I love the STEM fields. I throw boomerangs as a hobby and I won multiple boomerangs (Some wooden, some hard plastic). I like to teach my friends how to throw them and I teach them the physics of throwing a boomerang as well. I love teaching in a way that is easy for my st [more]

My philosophy: I want my students to feel comfortable, relaxed, and believe in themselves. In my opinion, this is the stuff that makes knowledge not only take form, but also take root. My goal is to help you in a way that lasts -- to give you answers, but not without the principles to learn to find your own answers. If I'm doing my job right, we will both have fun and learn new things together. About me: Despite my best efforts to stay on one track, I kept falling in love with music, then ... [more]

Background: I graduated from UCSD with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate engineering and science classes. I have been tutoring part time for the past 3-4 years. I mainly tutor high school and undergraduate math and high school physics. Teaching/Tutoring Method: For the most part, I try to focus on helping the student understand the concepts. I have an excellent understanding of the subject and I can break it down to th... [more]

I am a seasoned teacher with over 25 years' classroom experience. I have taught mathematics, physics and chemistry at the high school level. My students have achieved academic success in all these subjects. I am a caring dedicated professional, who is truly concerned about the students progress in the specific subject material. I feel having a sound foundation in the basic concepts of the subject is the primary starting point when teaching. If a student falls behind in the beginning of a cour... [more]

I am a UC Berkeley graduate with a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering (concentrated in Materials Science and Engineering) and a minor in Chemistry. I have been tutoring since I was a freshman in high school 8 years ago, and during my years as an undergraduate at Berkeley, I was given the opportunity to work as a university-employed tutor for the College of Engineering's Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE), where I taught coursework ranging from multi-variable calculus and linear a...
