I am a public school math teacher with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from UCLA and a passion for mathematics and physics. In addition, I am a painter and write short fiction and poetry. Ultimately, learning is about using one's creative power and applying it to the different subjects; it involves recognizing one's strengths and using them to create knowledge structures that can support effective learning. That and creating a positive atmosphere are two of my main tutoring go... [more]

Experienced physics teacher and tutor. Taught honors physics, AP physics 1 with algebra and AP physics C with calculus. Proven track record with great exam passing rates. The love for physics and math came at an early age, as my father was a physicist, and has helped me to be able to explain the most complex of concepts with relative ease making them understandable to my students. I have been tutoring Physics and Math for over 10 years with great success. I have taught HONORS PHYSICS, AP PHYSICS 1 with algebra and AP PHYSICS C with calculus in the Broward County school district for the last [more]

I received a grant at City College of NY as an undergraduate. Built an ultra high vacuum machine and did a quantum mechanics experiment. Received grade of A and 6 credits. I received a PH.D. in physics with work at Yale University and New York University. Papers I published in 1974 are still referenced in 2017. Unprecedented life time. I taught physics at Nassau Community College from summer 2006 term to all fall 2014 term. My students did drop my course and generally grew in number during term. I tutored students in physics to help them pass course. [more]

Physics is my second favorite subject and am always finding new things to try in laboratories and even at home using the formulas. As a teacher, I expect work to be shown for all calculations and in depth answers to open ended questions. Even as a tutor I will expect that type of work but make exceptions for diverse learners and help those who need to find alternate methods to show for full credit on assignments or exams. I absolutely love science, especially chemistry and physics. My bachelors degree is in chemistry and I was one class away from a minor in geology and physics at Humboldt Stat [more]

I am a graduate of UCF with a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Math. I finished Calculus AB by the 10th grade and Calculus BC and AP Statistics by the 11 grade receiving 5's on all 3 Advance Placement exams. I have been tutoring now for over 4 years with the majority of that going through Wyzant. I love math and science and can explain concepts very well. I like to focus on the areas students have problems with and strengthening the fundamentals that are so critical in math and sciences course... [more]

Physics includes a collection of various subject areas that explain every day phenomenon. How gravity works and how to approximate the time it takes for an object to fall. How static electricity causes someone to get shocked when they touch a doorknob. Even how an electric circuit is used to transfer power to operate a small device. Physics is more than just a class to dread in highschool, its an interesting collection of real scientists experiments explaining what happens around us and why things work. [more]
