I received my Bachelors of Science in Physics from UCI, since that time I have been the primary Physics teacher at the Army and Navy Academy for the past few years. I also teach the AP class. I am very familiar with the subject and where students have difficulty with it. I have been teaching Physics for the past 5 years and I truly love it. Before that, I tutored it for 4 years. In college I chose Physics as my major because I enjoyed it and it made sense to me. I decided to tutor it because I wanted others to see the same things. My goal, still, is to show my students that Physics is no [more]

Ever since I took my first physics class my freshman year of high school I've loved it. I find myself intrigued by how things work and all the applications presented by the material! In college I took classes such as Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. These classes are all applications of Physics and they represent the fundamentals presented in standard Physics classes. This all to say I am very qualified and I have the tutoring experience to match. My name is Christopher and I am a recent graduate of Cal Poly Pomona. I finished my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanic [more]

Background: I graduated from UCSD with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. As a graduate student, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate engineering and science classes. I have been tutoring part time for the past 3-4 years. I mainly tutor high school and undergraduate math and high school physics. Teaching/Tutoring Method: For the most part, I try to focus on helping the student understand the concepts. I have an excellent understanding of the subject and I can break it down to th... [more]

I am a Teaching Assistant for UCSD in both Physics and Math. I have a B.S. in Physics from UCSB. I have experience as a high school Science Olympiad coach, a high school tutor for physics and math, and a teaching assisant for physics and multivariable calculus at the university level. I like to take an "inverted pyramid" approach, in which I emphasize a strong grasp of a fundamental concepts of a subject (i.e. Newton's Laws, Kinematics Equations, Maxwell's Equations) and have them apply it to a wide range of problems. I like tutoring as not only does it reinforce my current knowledge ... [more]

I have a B.S. in Biological Sciences and PhD in Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology. I have conducted scientific research for 10+ years with a diverse background knowledge in science and math subjects. Throughout my academic career and beyond I have had the opportunity to mentor and tutor students in grade school (k-12) as well as undergrad and graduate students. While I specialize in Math and Science, I have also tutored in Spanish, social sciences, reading, writing, and general homewor... [more]

I am a seasoned teacher with over 25 years' classroom experience. I have taught mathematics, physics and chemistry at the high school level. My students have achieved academic success in all these subjects. I am a caring dedicated professional, who is truly concerned about the students progress in the specific subject material. I feel having a sound foundation in the basic concepts of the subject is the primary starting point when teaching. If a student falls behind in the beginning of a cour... [more]

I have a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. I was always a good student: 4.0 GPA in high school, 4.0 GPA in my undergrad, and 3.92 GPA in my graduate work. The classes I usually enjoyed the most were the ones where the professor was very organized and was willing to generate new examples when questions were raised. I try to use the same tactics when teaching someone else. I was doing my older brother's math homework before I even went to school. Math was alway... [more]

I am passionate about teaching math and science to children & young adults. I was on the adjunct faculty at Purdue University, Northwestern University and Illinois Institute of Technology. I retired a few years ago as a scientist in a research lab and have tutored many students on a volunteer basis privately and for the City of Carlsbad. As an example, I tutored one 12-year-old recently in pre-algebra, and he moved up from a C+ grade to an A grade in just two months. I enjoy working with ... [more]

Build your ?mental muscles? -Math is like ... [more]

I recently graduated with a bachelor's of science in astronomy and a minor in mathematics. I am going to be attending graduate school and will obtain a master's of science in physics. When teaching I like to incorporate real world examples to help the students understand the concepts by using things they have seen. I will also provide practice problems ranging in difficulty to prepare them for exams and homework. I have 1 year of tutoring experience in physics and math. When tutoring ... [more]
