I genuinely enjoy teaching physics! I've had the opportunity to make the curriculum and tests for the AP physics test prep class at a prestigious tutoring institution. As a result, many of my students received high scores on their AP test and SAT physics test. I hope my students learn to enjoy the subject as much as I do! Hi future students and parents!!! My name is Aki, and I was a Physics/Calculus teacher at a small private school located in San Diego. Now, I've relocated to Portland and am a full time tutor, dedicating all my attention to the success of each and every student I have. I've [more]

My entire life I have enjoyed teaching and helping others. Throughout high school and college, friends came to me for help in all subject areas; my teachers even grouped me with struggling students so that I could help them through difficult concepts and class work. After high school I attended the University of Oregon for a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Mathematics, and a GPA of 3.67. In tutoring, I first focus on understanding exactly what a student is having trouble with, then use a ... [more]

My passion to teach goes back a long way to my school and college days when I used to not only tutor, but mentor students and classmates to make sure they develop a conceptual understanding of the lesson. This passion to teach has only grown with time, even working as an Information Technology executive over the years, I have contributed towards the success of many high school and college students by teaching math and physics, including my two children throughout their academic career ?one ... As an engineer I?ve taken years of physics and continued to practice it in my career. I'm a Mechanical Engineer with five years of working experience who has always been drawn to helping others understand math and physics. This started in high school when I helped two of my closest friends gain a better understanding for physics. I am a big believer that different people learn in different ways, and I enjoy figuring out how to adjust the concept to the student rather than the other way around. By far my greatest passion and understanding lies in mathematics, though I am happy ... [more]
