Physics is a math intensive, rigorous subject. I have taught high school physical science --which covers the basics of physics-- and I have taken two semesters of Physics courses as a Rhodes undergraduate, where I later served as an adjunct faculty member. For me, teaching physics involves many real life scenarios to make the equations and calculations more interesting. This has the added benefit of being recalled more easily later. As a Rhodes College graduate, high school teacher, and current University of Memphis graduate student, Andrew has had many experiences in teaching chemistry. Havin [more]

My name is Vijay and I have a bachelor?s degree in electrical engineering and a PhD in control systems. I am semi-retired so I tutor students in mathematics and physics. Students preparing for the ACT, SAT and AP courses require skills to pick apart a problem and apply the tools they have learned to arrive at a well reasoned solution. I have tutored college students from various disciplines who need to brush up or bolster their math and physics skills. My approach to tutoring is (1) teach... [more]

Hey, So I just graduated college this past April from the University of Cincinnati with my undergraduate in mechanical engineering. I also graduated with my Masters in Business Administration. I am currently working as a lean manufacturing engineer in Memphis. I want to become a tutor for two main reasons 1) student loans and 2) I love to teach. In high school I was captain of my chess and swimming teams. I was a member of my high school's soccer team and I was a leader in our intern... [more]

My name is Jennifer and I am very excited to get started! I have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. I have a strong background in math, engineering and physics, and can also help with beginner to intermediate level Spanish and Shakespeare (yikes!) I have had experience working as a tutor through college and as a mentor to new employees with my current company. I like to be hands on, and to attempt to use real world exampl... [more]

My mission is to take the mystery out of the mechanics of physics by showing the students I tutor how to use the technique of linearization in their lab work and to encourage them to integrate physics concepts into their daily lives in such a way as to enhance their career opportunities in the future as well as bring new clarity to everyday living. I am offering my first tutoring session on how to develop and understand Newton?s Law of Motion using linearization and how this concept can be applied to the study of other physics formulas. This first lesson will be 50% off the regular price. Wit [more]

Physics is a laboratory science course that examines the relationship between matter and energy and how they interact. This course will have a strong emphasis in the mathematics of physics. Students explore physics concepts through an inquiry approach. Embedded standards for Inquiry, Technology & Engineering, and Mathematics are taught in the context of the content standards for Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Waves and Sound, Light and Optics, Electricity and Magnetism and Atomic & Nuclear Science [more]

I'm currently on my last semester at a local community college. I have a knack for anything and everything that is mechanical, mathematical, or generally quantifiable. Math and science speak to me, and I'm sure I can make it speak to you as well. I also might be moving south a bit, but would still like my tutoring to be done in the Jackson area, as that is where I am attending school. If you happen to live around Mendenhall, I would be willing to tutor there, just contact me. ... [more]

I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2015 from The University of Texas at Tyler. During the latter years of working on my degree, I privately tutored courses in advanced level math (calculus), science (physics), and several engineering courses. Currently, I am working on my Master's of Science in Structural Engineering online through The University of Texas at Arlington. My hope is to one day become a professor at a major university, and I feel that tutoring ... [more]

Hi! my name is Shana. I am a AA certified teacher in the state of MS 12 years of experience as a professional educator. I am certified in chemistry, physics, biology, physical science, general science and AP chemistry. I also hold certification as a virtual instructor and as a Cambridge coordinated sciences instructor and grader. I have experience working with some of the larger educational corporations scoring the ACT exam and as an assessment writer, where I came up with the actual quest... [more]

I have a Master's degree in astrophysics and am willing to help your child excel in math and science. I can help with test prep or entrance criterion for schools! I specialize in lower and higher level mathematics, as well as physics and astronomy. I cannot tutor students that are currently taking a class of mine at the school I teach at! ACT Math, Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Differential Equations, Proofs, and Differential Geome... [more]
