As an electrical engineering student, I had to take several calculus-based physics classes ranging from Newtonian physics to acoustics and optics to electromagnetics to modern physics. I worked at Huntington Learning Center for five years working as a calculus and physics tutor. I've been a tutor now for four years and I love my job! I specialize in Calculus 1/2/3, Differential Equations, Physics, and Electric Circuit Analysis but also teach algebra, SAT/ACT prep, and precalculus. I really look forward to the "AHA!" moment when a student finally understands the concepts that I'm trying to c [more]

I have been an active tutor with WyzAnt since 2009. I attended a public high school in the state of Connecticut and graduated in the top 18% of my class with honors. My name is Joel and I want to thank you for taking the time to explore my tutor profile. I wear many hats including being a physician, pianist, day-trader, and professional tutor. To use an appropriate analogy, when you have car trouble, you take your car to a mechanic to fix the problem, NOT the salesman who sold it to you. As a professional tutor, I want to be your trusted mechanic. I am NOT a current/former teacher. Whereas teachers are trained to present "testable" information to large ... [more]

I've assisted students enrolled in physics courses at John Tyler Community College. I absolutely love helping people understand math better. I have been tutoring math since my sophomore year at Virginia Tech--eons ago. I have been a 'numbers person' all my life. I enjoyed math as a kid. I majored in electrical engineering in college. I enjoyed tutoring college math, engineering, and calculus during my days at Virginia Tech. After graduation, I worked as an engineer for a few years before returning to school. Some of my favorite moments were in helping high school students... [more]
