I studied both neuroscience and music at a liberal arts college (graduating magna cum laude). I have a voracious appetite for learning and I enjoy fostering that same natural curiosity in the students that I tutor. Because I have a love for learning and sharing interesting information, I frequently led study groups, both large and small for my classes in college - including English, psychology, and neuroscience. I often proofread students' papers to help students improve their grammar, clar... [more]
Throughout medical school physiology has been the platform in which to understand all other subjects. Starting in college I took anatomy and physiology and passed with high scores. In medical school I had to do the same, except on a much more challenging level. I was able to score extremely well on the subjects as well as pass the medical board exams which largely included physiology. I have used that platform to tutor many medical and college students since then. I am a 4th year medical student soon ready to graduate. One of the biggest reasons I chose medicine is because it is a great platfo [more]

Hey, my name is Martin and I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University. Early on I realized that I had a passion for teaching and physiology. Drew Saturday Science Academy, Pepperdine Jumpstart, David Gonzalez Camp School in Calabasas, as well as Opportunities for Learning. These different teaching opportunities have shown me that there is no one way to te... [more]

I have a Ph.D. in physiology, 10+ years of teaching at the college level. I've been teaching biology at the community college level for 8 years, and was a TA at UC Riverside before that. One of the things that made me want to become a full time teacher was helping students understand the material they are studying. I have experience teaching students from all walks of life...first time students, students who are coming back to school to train for a second career, as well as my second grader's homework (!!). I'll use analogies from your every day life to help... [more]
