I have been playing piano/keyboards (accordion, organ, synthesizers) for over 50 years. I played professionally for 20 of these years, including general business, rock, and jazz. (Currently, I am playing with a six-piece ensemble for the joy of it, with occasional "gigs" for family and friends.) I have also given private keyboard lessons (on-and-off) since 1974. My approach is to teach playing by written note, chord tablature, and ear; and I readily adjust to the student's (and their parents') preferences. [more]

I started learning piano at the age of 10 years old, and started teaching at the age of 11 when my teacher decided I was ready to teach others. I taught over 15 students, with ages ranging from 5 to 18. I teach students how to read music, and transfer that ability to the piano, building on fundamentals like sight reading and finger & hand coordination. From beginners piano up through Classical piece by the great composers, I work with students to make piano fun and engaging. Overall I have six years of experience teaching piano. [more]
