Experienced Tutor in Algebra and Chemistry (Honors, AP, IB)

As a former teacher in North Carolina, the Praxis series was prerequisite to teaching in the public schools. I did not take Praxis 1, as I took the track through NCTeach, a graduate level teacher certification process for lateral entry teachers. However, in the process of being licensed in Comprehensive Science, I took the Praxis II for Science and the Pedagogy section for Physical Sciences, scoring near maximum in both. After a career in the banking industry, a decision to change careers led me to a sequence of Chemistry, Biology and Math courses at the University of North Carolina at Charlot [more]

Enthusiastic Certified Math Tutor by Day and Game Designer by Night!

The math section of the Praxis exam is based around these four content areas: number and quantity, algebra and functions, geometry, and statistics and probability. Many of these subjects are found in the ACT and the GRE, in which I scored a 32 and a 167, and I have already passed the ACT prep and algebra subject tests here through Wyzant. I have also had past experience tutoring Statistics and Contemporary Topics, which has a portion dedicated to understanding number and quantity. Lastly, I have had experience tutoring one adult woman in math Praxis prep, and I'm proud to say she passed! [more]

Semi-retired engideer who loves mathematics

I am applying only for the math section of the Praxis testing if that is possible. I have a B.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Kentucky. I have taken courses in Calculus I, II, III, IV, Advanced Calculus, Complex Variables, Transforms, Analytic Geometry & Differential Equations. In order to practice these math skills, I have a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering as well. Trigonometry was taken in high school. I have taken a number of online practice tests for the Praxis math section... some take more time than others but the questions are not too complex for my background. [more]
