Praxis is a teacher certification standardized test used for all teachers in Minnesota at all grade levels, to assess basic competency in English and math. While many states take Praxis, Illinois has its own basic skills diagnostic test for prospective teachers via the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) called TAP (Test of Academic Proficiency).
