I taught algebra for two years at a Denver Public high school and have another three years experience tutoring basic math through calculus at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Red Rocks Community College. The SAT is heavily focused on algebra and I scored a 790 on the math section (top 1%). I currently teach math at Red Rocks Community College and have also taught both high school math (algebra and geometry) and elementary in Denver Public Schools. Additionally, I offer math-based classes/camps and SAT prep courses for groups/high schools. -Build confidence and competency with unique [more]

My Name is Tom O. and I am a 2006 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I was a mechanical engineer with Caterpillar for three years and I tutored at Wright College (one of the City Colleges of Chicago) for over five years. I tutor different levels of mathematics from intermediate algebra to third year calculus (including differential equations and linear algebra). I also tutor different levels of Physics (both calculus and non-calculus based), general inorganic chemistr... [more]

I have enjoyed tutoring pre-algebra for 3 years and have never failed to help a student raise their grades anywhere from one to three levels. My rates are low because I resumed tutoring after retirement from a successful career for the enjoyment of helping students gain the skills to succeed in furthering their education. Pre-algebra is an important subject to master because it lays the groundwork in mathematical logic that is needed to continue on in high school math and potentially into college. Most of the math learned in pre-algebra stems from mastering a relatively small number of concept [more]

I am an experienced middle school, high school, and adult education math teacher (18 years) with loads of experience tutoring on a one-on-one basis, also. I have passed the math portion of the GRE exam with a perfect score and can help you get the best score possible! My graduate work is in architecture and design. I believe you should ENJOY the math you are studying -- at least as much as possible! In addition, I feel my strength as a tutor is working with students who have had an uncomfo... [more]

I just graduated from CU Boulder majoring in Physics. Throughout my college life, I found myself interested in teaching. I was a paid math Learning Assistant for a year which gave me the opportunity to teach and help students. That?s when I realize I love teaching and started taking education classes. I also planned and taught a few lessons at a middle school with the help of CU Teach. Due to the high demand of mathematic work in physics, I took a lot of math course to complete my physics deg... In addition to teaching high school students in algebra, I have taught and promoted the important fundamentals that lead to a more concrete understanding of algebra (using hands-on and concrete approaches) in elementary and middle school-grade levels . *************************************************************************** BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY RATES BREAKDOWN AND DISCOUNTS *************************************************************************** It's often the case that students are trying to save time and parents are trying to save money. To both those ends, my personaliz [more]

I really enjoy teaching Pre-Algebra topics, especially topics like prime numbers and factorization. These topics don't have to be boring. In fact, if you get to know a little about the history of how these ideas were discovered, you might find them fascinating. I can understand why a lot of students these days fall behind or lose interest in math. Subjects like Algebra and Trigonometry are taught in such a way that if you fall behind just a little bit, it can seem almost impossible to catch up. And once that happens, a student?s enthusiasm and self confidence can go downhill fast. Today?s ma [more]

Hello! My name is Jacob, I was never able to pick out what I wanted to do when I grew up so I chose computer programming, because it opens doors all over the world and in every category of employment. In Fall 2018 I completed the web development certification program at the University of Denver, with an 'A'. I have been/am instructing classes for Coding With Kids (with exclusively 4 and 5 star parent reviews), tutoring javascript/html/css, and working on freelance projects. Learning to co... [more]

I believe that I can help every student master math concepts. I have 30 years of experience in math education and have worked with students of all abilities. I have taught middle school and high school mathematics. I have taught both accelerated students and students that struggle (and students in between). I know many ways to approach math concepts so that if my first approach does not work, I can find a different way to explain mathematical concepts. Then I will help make connections... [more]

My name is Ariel H., and I am a math major at the University of Denver. I tutor students with recognized learning challenges, as well as outside students in the Denver area. I tutored math 030 - 099 (entry level maths) at Arapahoe Community College for 2 semesters and now I tutor students with learning challenges at DU. I tend to approach math with a real - world perspective, interpreting problems and equations in terms of how they communicate an observable principle. I'm 19 years old, and ha... [more]
