I love helping people uncover their academic potential. My expertise lies in all high school Math/Statistics/Calculus, Science, Physics and Chemistry subjects. At college level I can assist with Math/Statistics/Calculus, Psychology and Neuroscience. I have a Bachelor in Neuroscience and Math from the University of Melbourne, Australia's Top University and currently have my Psychology post-grad studies on hold as I moved to USA. The students I've worked with range from elementary to college w... [more]

I am a graduate of Le Moyne College (Syracuse, NY) where I majored in biology and minored in chemistry and philosophy. At Le Moyne College I tutored in the Academic Support Center and conducted one on one tutoring sessions in math and the natural sciences. In the years following my graduation I tutored for Le Moyne College's Liberty Partnership Program and Science and Technology Entry Program. These programs brought tutors into Syracuse City High Schools during the school day and provided tut... [more]

I love teaching! It's my passion and I hope to exercise this passion by meeting some of you! I teach most effectively through one-on-one and group interactions. Thus, tutoring is my specialty when it comes to teaching. The subjects I can tutor in are Math and Physics because I have a Bachelor and Master degree in Physics from Western Washington University and University of Arkansas (Fayetteville). During my undergraduate and graduate years at those schools, I taught beginning level physics co... [more]

I did quite well in all my middle and high school math classes, including pre-algebra. I was often the go-to girl for helping my friends understand math concepts they were struggling with. I was able to figure out how to explain the concepts or problems in a way that made sense to them. Later, I used those same skills in a math tutoring program I helped set up at my high school through our school's chapter of the National Honor Society. I eventually majored in mathematics at Rice University, where I was an academic fellow, tutoring students in college-level mathematics, among other subjects. [more]

Prealgebra is the time to develop intuitive understanding of fundamental concepts that will ensure success through the following years of math. In algebra and beyond, it's common to be tripped up by the mechanical procedures. Prealgebra is the time to lay the groundwork in concepts and familiarity so the later concepts feel intuitive rather than intimidating. I personally received top grades in classes from pre-algebra through advanced college math, and have successfully tutored students (formally and informally) at all levels. [more]

I am a married (over 30 years!) father of two wonderful daughters (23 and 28) and have enjoyed working with children and young adults since I was a teenager. I put myself through school by tutoring elementary and high school students. I also coached 8-15 year old boys, football and hockey, and worked at summer camps for a number of years teaching 6-16 year old (male and female) photography (camera and darkroom). I was a teaching assistant for 2.5 years for an introductory computer programming... [more]

I am a 2nd Year PhD Student at the University of Washington, where I study personal finance and behavioral economics. I am a teaching assistant (currently for introductory Statistics). I am a former 6th and 8th grade math teacher. I really enjoy teaching in small group settings, because the satisfaction of seeing someone grasp a concept for the first time is hard to beat. On the personal side, I grew up on a farm in Montana, but love calling Seattle home. I went to college in Spokane f... [more]

Prealgebra is the basis for all math courses to follow, and I understand how important it is to solidify these concepts early. I emphasize the good habits that will lead to success in higher level courses. My belief is that the key take-away from this course is the logical thinking that is emphasized. I am a mechanical engineer, in my third year of working towards a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and am an experienced tutor in the areas of math, science, and engineering. I finished my M.S. in mechanical engineering in March of 2018 at UW, with a focus on thermodynamics and energy sys [more]

Hello! If you are ready to conquer math then I am definitely the tutor for you! I have over 10 years of tutoring experience and taught math to high school students for two years. I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a B.S in Materials Science and Engineering and I am currently doing research at the Seattle Children's Research Institute. I love teaching and helping students overcome the anxiety they have when it comes to math. If you are looking for someone who is patient, can bea... [more]

In my first year of high school, I began volunteering at various daycare and tutoring centers as a tutor for kids of all ages and in many different subjects. In my last year of high school, I began doing my own freelance tutoring while occasionally doing seasonal work in classroom settings at various prep centers. Through volunteering and private work, I've spent upwards of two thousand hours tutoring. Having worked for many years in both one-on-one and group settings, I have the experienc... [more]
