For more than 12 years I have been tutoring math, including Prealgebra. The school year is at a point where good grades are more critical . And it is more obvious that your student or you need help. Rather than procrastinate any longer and get into difficulty with a subject, why not consider a tutor to help smooth out these anxious moments and begin on a path to grade improvement. It is preferable to deal with these issues before the grades are unable to be improved as much. Or if you are studying for the SAT or ACT or PERT , I have had great success with ... [more]

I graduated as Valedictorian in high school and Summa Cum Laude in college, and I want to give your child the same opportunity to excel. In addition, I managed a tutoring center of 140 children and have experience with all age groups. For those who have al... [more]

I am a math tutor at Hillsborough Community College and have 9 years of experience tutoring at every academic level. I am very comfortable teaching prealgebra. I began college as a tuba/jazz performance major and at some point realized that music was not the path for me. While taking my general education requirements, I came to find that I enjoy the thrill of math and science. I still work as a musician but appreciate music more because of my math skills. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of South Florida studying physics and mathematics. I am also employed by a college as [more]

Based upon my teaching experiences, I believe EVERYBODY can learn math to at least the pre-algebra level. I take the first lesson to listen to the student speak about his/her frustrations and "failures" and to go over basic math... to determine his/her level and weaknesses. In this first lesson, I will also reteach some of the basics that most teachers assume the student already knows. If the student is currently in pre-algebra, I teach from the student's book, as well as augment it with problems and handouts of my own. I will explain concepts in multiple ways, until one clicks. As an undergraduate I was a student teacher for Calculus I recitations. This required clear comm... [more]
