My approach to Prealgebra is always two fold. I work hard to make sure a student has the basic skills to realistically progress throughout the class while maintaining current work levels. Once I assess a students Math IQ, I put them into the appropriate starting position along the progressive math highway to success. I do this through a set of uniquely written practice problems and exercises that I can send off the clock that are designed to increase overall Math IQ. I also have check point quizzes so if given enough time I can show a tangible record of progression. I have been successfu [more]

Having trouble solving for 'x'? Not sure if you should be adding or subtracting from both sides of an equation, or multiplying or dividing on both sides? Do terms like 'radicals' or phrases like 'rational expressions' make you wonder if you are still talking about math? Please message me when ready to start tackling these items, or any others, which may be giving you trouble. From 2006 to 2010, I had taught mathematics, and since 2010 have been a full-time private tutor. Let's start with why I love tutoring. The most important reason is that my life experiences have taught me that almost nothing is beyond anyone's grasp, as long as they truly desire to learn it and have a teacher who believes in them. I enjoy being that teacher. While I am new to this platform, I have been teaching and tutoring in some fashion for over 30 years, starting with being a Calculus tutor for undergraduates when I was in graduate school. I have been the math teacher at 2 charter... [more]

I have my master's in geology from Ohio University. I have mastered math courses through partial differential equations, and have taken many different Earth science courses. My specialization is in geophysics, so I know both the physical and conceptual aspects of geology. I have experience teaching at the college level having spent two years as a teaching assistant. I even served as the head teaching assistant and was in charge of creating course content for a geology lab course. I have al... [more]

Hello! I am graduate of Kalamazoo College with a major in Economics and Spanish and a minor in math. Throughout my time as a student, I have found one of the best ways to fully understand a concept is to be able to explain it to someone else. I hold this method close while helping others learn as well. I am extremely patient and always encouraging. I am very comfortable tutoring students from elementary age through high school in math, reading, writing and Spanish. I have also had experien... [more]

Hi, I recently graduated with my Master's at George Mason. I have many years of experience tutoring many subjects, with an emphasis of math. I then became a private math tutor 5 years ago, helping students learn and re-emphasize various math concepts. I can tutor any math level, from elementary through high school. I also can tutor in statistics, up to the college/graduate level. It is up to you how long you would like each tutoring session to run and how many sessions per week. The session... [more]

Prealgebra is the basic introduction of using variables and numbers to count, add, subtract, and multiply and divide to solve basic equations and functions for all number lines, x and y coordinates and function tables in preparation for modern Algebra I. To all interested parents and students, my twenty plus years working in the the Detroit area public schools has given me a very good understanding of what students need in the classrooms. I've learned how to deal with students needing academic support by being very patient with the learning process. I taught mathematics on the high school and [more]

I love to teach Algebra and help our students to learn it and master it for their future studies and to help them apply it in their daily lives. Dear Student, I know that majority of our students hate math and physics. In my tutoring or teaching experience, I try to start any lesson by asking you questions to see where you need help most. I provide you with many examples you can try by yourself then you and me try to review or fix your steps so we can go forward to different example or different idea or subject. Through my tutoring I deal with my students as friends, brothers, sisters, [more]
