I absolutely love tutoring Pre-algebra. It is a key stepping stone to all of high school math. Students can succeed in pre-algebra with proper tutoring even if they have had difficulties in the past.Their difficulties often can be resolved when they learn proper tools and strategies. Tutoring while guiding the student is my purpose. I believe that all students can learn and become high achievers if they are given the appropriate tools and strategies. I have an MBA from Ohio State University, a BA in Economics and a BBA in Management (from St. Mary's at Notre Dame). I have a minor in humani [more]

I was a National Merit Scholar in high school and graduated from ASU and the Barrett Honors College in 2000. That same year I started teaching SAT and GRE after scoring 800 A 760 M 740 V on the old GRE scoring scale and 780 M 760 V SAT. I have taught SAT classes and tutored for various standardized exams down to the 6th grade level and know the difference in scores that the added attention and coaching of my private tutoring makes for students. I tutor all sections of the SAT and ACT and ... [more]

Although my master's degree is in a different field, math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and to learn. I have taken a number of college courses in math education and algebra, and I am currently teaching myself trigonometry and analytical geometry. I have many years experience teaching math to grades 5-8. At my last school, I taught algebra to junior and high school students on an individual basis, much like tutoring, using several different computer platforms. I also taught pre-algebra to students in small groups, according to what skills they needed to pass the AIMS test. In tuto [more]

Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology. I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or ... [more]

I have tutored high school mathematics for twenty years. The first five years of my career were spent working with ESL students teaching pre-Algebra and Algebra. I spent four years teaching middle school students, regularly helping them with Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 concepts. I currently teach high school mathematics. I have special education experience, which helps me to serve students at a wide range of ability levels in mathematics. I have always excelled in mathematics. I had good teachers in middle school and high school, and they laid a mathematics foundation that allowed me to score 780 on SAT Math and 790 on GRE Quantitative (maximum score was 800 when I took each test). I never lost points on geometry questions on either of those tests. Today [more]

I'm a 22 year old graduate student with a passion for math and helping students overcome their struggles in math. I'm proficient in prealgebra. Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. My two passions in life are learning and teaching. To me, there is nothing better than seeing a person's face light up as they suddenly understand a concept that once seemed impossible. People learn at different rates and process information differently. My goal is to discover a student's unique needs, and to present the material in an informative and engaging way. I explain the theory behind key concepts and use examples to help students visua... [more]
