I have taught and tutored in many different subjects in various parts of the world. Having benefited from one-on-one and small group instructions myself, I know the value in meeting each student at their level and working with their strengths to generate a command of the subject matter. I don't believe that anyone is "bad" at math or "bad" at English. We all are capable of understanding anything with personalized, careful instruction. I have extensive experience as a TA, as a tutor in math a... [more]

Prealgebra was one of my favorite classes to teach. I enjoyed working one-on-one with each child. I had students in prealgebra as early as 6th grade. I have experience in all subject areas, since I have taught all grade levels from K-8. I've taught ESL classes in Japan and California. I have guided two schools being named Johns Hopkins Honor Schools when I was Principal/Teacher. I enjoy working one-on-one wi [more]

They need to think of addition and multiplication in new and more advanced ways. I show my students how these concepts relate to the world they know and how they can easily understand them. One of my students was recently hopelessly confused by integers, and after one tutoring session, she understood them and was suddenly getting [more]
