Pre-algebra is one of my favorite branches of math. I have helped many friends throughout my school years with the content and also have had the privilege of tutoring it to students as well. I was in advanced mathematics throughout middle school and high school, beginning with pre-algebra so I am well versed in the area. I have wanted to be an educator since I was a child. I have a passion and desire to share what I know in order to help others succeed. I believe that each person has the capacity to achieve their goals no matter what they are if they are willing to put in the work. In High S [more]

I truly enjoy seeing those I teach "get it" and have that "ah ha" moment. A structural engineer by trade, I have to continually learn new things each and every day. It's my job! Math is my specialty of course, but I don't fit the mold as a typical engineer as I enjoy interacting with people too. Tutoring experience? Well...besides the hours on wyzant tutoring mostly algebra and trigonometry I have previously volunteered to teach at engineering outreach events at the Buffalo Museum of Sci... [more]

Throughout my scholastic career, I have always found that the teachers who were most effective were those that were passionate about their chosen subject. From an early age, I have passionate about the written word. To that effect, I am a published author, and have received several awards for my short stories and poems. In terms of my education qualifications, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maine with majors in Psychology and Biology, as well as a minor in Sociology. ... [more]

I have over 8 years of experience in tutoring mathematics in colleges mostly and high-schools occasionally. I was hired by The Learning Center of the competitive Daemen College of Amherst, NY, nearly 7 years ago. During that time, I set a new record for the amount of hours and students tutored in the subject of mathematics alone. I had also tutored chemistry for a couple of years. I still work with Daemen college at the present time. My personable approach, grasp of the material, and commit... [more]
