I have taken college level math classes up to and including Calculus II while pursuing my Biology major. These classes required me to have an excellent understanding of the concepts that I learned in Pre-algebra. I have earned an A or A- in all of my math classes. I love teaching math! I graduated with a B.A. in History and a B.S. in Biology with Research Certification at Gonzaga University in May 2015. I have tutored science, history, math and writing for over 10 years. I love learning and approaching questions using several different techniques. I don't believe that there is only one way to [more]

Aloha! I have helped people with their math since elementary school when I would tutor in all subjects. I earned a math degree from the United States Naval Academy and served for five years in the Marine Corps as a logistics officer. I earned the rank of Captain before transitioning to the civilian sector, where I taught remedial middle school Algebra in Fairfax County Virginia Public Schools. I love tutoring because it is a chance to learn someone's personal learning style and adapt my tea... [more]

I love mathematics and showing how useful and beautiful it can be. I have tutored for over 10 years and have taught both high school and college mathematics during the past 5 years. For classes, I would be happy to help you get caught up on any material missed or not fully understood, or even help you get ahead. I will help you on your homework by checking your work or helping to fill content knowledge gaps and working with you on similar problems, but I will never do your homework for yo... [more]

As an engineering major I have taken a wide range of math classes. I have had many occasions to use Algebra in my professional life, enabling me to provide applicability to students, often a major hurdle to learning the subject. After spending hours tutoring PreAlgebra, I have found that one-on-one time builds a great foundation! I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2009 with a degree in General Engineering and served as a Naval Flight Officer and Program Manager in the U.S. Navy for seven years. After leaving the service, I traveled around the world for two years visiting over [more]

I am a recent graduate of a degree in engineering. I would love to help students master math. I have experience in helping classmates and family with homework and general math questions. I really enjoy teaching individuals about subjects I understand. I also have an interest in learning which I believe is behind the reason I would like to tutor students. I really enjoy learning. Because of this I believe I have patience and enthusiasm to help students even if the concept takes some time t... [more]

I have been teaching math and statistics at the two-year college level for over ten years. My most frequently-taught subjects are Algebra (1 & 2) and Statistics, but have experience also in Precalculus, Calculus, and Pre-Algebra. I have experience working with students in person and remotely, and have degrees in Statistics and Math Education. It's my belief that no student is "bad at math", they just may have had a bad experience with it. I want to try to make the subject as real and as fun a... [more]

I am an experienced classroom teacher, currently working as an Algebra I teacher. I have 28 years of experience and would like to tutor Algebra I or pre-algebra students. My passion is helping students understand and "seeing the light bulb go off" when a concept becomes clear for the first time. Algebra I, prealgebra I will be finished teaching the first week in June and my schedule will be open.... [more]

I have many years of business and engineering experience, this allows me to give the student insight on how a current lesson relates to real life situations. Many engineering, math and science problem solving difficulties come from not understanding the question being asked. Developing a simple and clear system to organize and understand the given data, the unknowns and the solution method is as important as a quick solution. I am a Civil Engineer with Professional Engineer licenses in... [more]
