Pre-Calculus is a review of all the math you have had up until this class, plus a few new things you will need to know before you head to Calculus. As a result, this class covers a LOT of material and can be a struggle for many students, particularly if they did not understand math material previously. Let me guide you through this course, targeting areas where you might not quite remember certain techniques or rules, and I will make sure you get through unscathed. And if you plan on continuing to Calculus, I will make sure to prepare you for Day 1 of that course as well. [more]

I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Electrical engineering degree, which required of me a mastery of general mathematics, including precalculus. As a successful undergraduate and a Masters student in the challenging, interdisciplinary field of Acoustical Engineering, I know how important a great teacher can be. Through fantastic teachers I have had in my own life, I learned unique and proven teaching methods that I apply to all of the students I tutor. I am extremely qualified as a tutor, having experience tutoring in both formal and informal settings, and graduating both high school and col [more]

As an instructor I have a broad set of experiences both in terms of subject matter, group size, and age of students. My first teaching experience came at the University of Kansas as a college algebra instructor and tutor. Each semester I had a class of approximately 20 students and tutored roughly 10 hours a week. The majority of this tutoring was one-on-one; however, when it proved advantageous, I would tutor small groups of 3-4 students. Later in my undergraduate degree, I led a student bri... [more]

I've taught math for the last 12 years. My experience has been at the middle school and high school levels. I currently hold a credential to teach mathematics at all levels through AP Calculus. I have taught several sections of Pre-Calculus at the high school level. I am a graduate of UC San Diego with a degree in Management Science and a minor in Art. I have a Master of Education from UC San Diego with credentials to teach Mathematics and Physics. I have supplemental credentials to also teach Business, Economics, and Art. As a high school student I scored 790 on my SAT Math, 800 on my S [more]

As a lifelong learner, I am very driven to help others achieve their goals in the classroom. I've been a high school and college math tutor for 8 years, and worked for UCLA to teach upper division linear algebra. I do not aim to simply get my students to pass, but truly help them understand the material so they are not simply regurgitating information. I specialize in tutoring Pre-Calculus, Calculus I/II/III, any lower division math/stats course (linear algebra, discrete, diff eq's, etc.), ... [more]

I have over 500 hours experience tutoring students in high school and college math. I worked as a staff tutor in college for USC Student-Athlete Academic Services where I assisted student-athletes with their coursework and study skills. I have tutored between 1 and 3 students at a time and have led review sessions for groups of 10 students. Tutoring is one of my passions. I am an enthusiastic instructor and patient listener. I love focusing out on others and facilitating their growth. My s... [more]

I enjoy helping students open doors for themselves by achieving high test scores and admission to selective schools because I was fortunate to have those doors opened for me through hours of hard work and the thoughtful advice of my own mentors. Particularly, I am focused on helping students prepare for and achieve admission to highly-selective colleges, universities, and professional graduate programs. In addition to admissions assistance and consulting, I help students build toward thei... [more]

After competing in national math tournaments in high school and taking BC Calculus in the 10th grade, I enrolled at Harvard College where I graduated in four years with both bachelor's and master's degrees in Applied Math with a focus in economics. I subsequently studied at Georgia Tech's business school where I received a master's degree in strategic management. I currently work in San Diego as a financial analyst. My focus when tutoring is on helping students learn by doing, not by ... [more]

I have BS in electrical and electronic engineering, so I studied lots of math and physics and still taking classes on embedded engineering in UCSD. I'm a professional in Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus and Physics especially the parts which relate to electrical engineering (analog and digital circuits analysis, solid state physics, signal processing and electromagnetic field). I have more than 5 years experience in teaching students different math subjects, such as: Limits, Integr... [more]
