I did my first two years of college at Worcester Polytechnic Institute studying Electrical and Computer Engineering and finished at Daniel Webster College with a degree in aviation and air traffic management. I finished my Master's degree in Statistics at the University of Southern Maine. I enjoy helping students learn new material and would some day like to be a professor of statistics at a university.... [more]
A further look is taken at parent graphs, how they can be translated, and the domain and range of functions are more closely kept track of. Main things to look for when determining the domain of a function: division by zero, square rooting (or any even root) of a number. Anything learned in previous math classes is fair game at any point, and more time will be spent on special classes of functions, and identities: logarithmic, exponential, trigonometric, rational, etc... Become very comfortable using rational exponents rather than radical symbols, and do not rely too much on the calculator [more]

I have been teaching and tutoring Calculus for a long time. I try to help the student to build the skills needed to understand Calculus and its applications. Dear Student, I know that majority of our students hate math and physics. In my tutoring or teaching experience, I try to start any lesson by asking you questions to see where you need help most. I provide you with many examples you can try by yourself then you and me try to review or fix your steps so we can go forward to different example or different idea or subject. Through my tutoring I deal with my students as friends, brothe [more]

Pre-Calc is the math course that ties everything together learned from Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. It is crucial that a student gets a fundamental understanding in this area, as many of the material one sees in Pre-Calc, they will also see in Calculus. From my experience, most people have problems with the Geometry, Algebra, and Trig portions of Calculus, and not the actual Calculus concepts themselves. *Begin Disclaimer* Due to the constraints on my schedule with regards to medical school, I predominantly live in the Toledo, Ohio area now. I spent quite a bit of time at school helping my professors TA their classes and introductory level labs. I also completed a senior thesis about physics at the high school level by working closely with a magnet school physics teacher and doing my own lesson planning. I have tutored and taught in many countries, including the USA, Aus... [more]
