I have over ten years of experience teaching and coaching for different organizations, colleges and universities. I have helped administer a tutoring program in St. Louis. I have had success in helping students with whom others were unable to achieve improvement. I get excited when I see students learn to love learning (especially math and literature). I began attending college when I was 15 years. I scored high enough on my ACT/SAT exams to earn a full tuition scholarship. I graduated from ... [more]

Tutoring largely started out as a hobby for me. I enjoyed helping my fellow classmates learn material and be successful while at the same time learning from them. That cooperative nature of tutoring, working together to achieve student-inspired goals, is what turned it into a passion. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Washington with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and Economics. As a math department tutor, I was given the opportunity to help college students of all l... [more]

I enjoyed this course very much so in high school. It was great seeing all the previous math courses I completed work into this course, preparing me for what was to come in Calculus. It truly tests your understanding of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Math may have changed by its structure in schools with Math 1, 2, & 3 but it is still mostly the same and it leads to PRE-CALCULUS. I graduated from UC Merced in 2013 with a degree in Mathematics. My overall goal is to eventually become a high school math teacher once my children are a bit older. Right now I am a stay home dad who tutors arou [more]

It has been a joy to tutor several individual students all the way through the maze of general mathematics, from the basics of arithmetic through precalculus and on to Calculus I-III and beyond, all at an A+ level. I have also helped many others through various stages of this same mathematical odyssey. I am particularly interested in helping make difficult concepts emerge from obscurity to the light of day by patiently helping each individual student build on their strengths and confront their weaknesses with increasing confidence and skill. Precalculus is one of the classes I see the most frustration with. The ideas are challenging and the pace is quick. It builds on a lot of ideas from trigonometry, geometry, and algebra. My approach is to make sure those foundations are solid, and fill in the gaps when needed. I have worked as a TA and tutor since 2007, helping out college students with their mathematics coursework. I take my time to work with a student, listen to their struggles and questions, and then approach the problem in a way they will understand. I have the ability to explain a problem in multiple ways, so that if [more]
