I have taught and tutored Precalculus on the high school and college level for more than 40 years. I am familiar with content standards for this subject. I also use the online math programs like MathXL that many schools use in their classes. I have been teaching for 40 years and I still love it. For a student to be successful in the classroom, he or she needs to feel confident in the subject matter. I can give you that confidence. Over the years, I have tutored many students and enjoy the one-to-one learning environment. I currently teach Algebra 2, Precalculus, and College Algebra and Tri [more]

I am a recent graduate from Tulane University (Class of 2017) with a BS in Mathematics and a BFA in Jazz Studies. I have several years experience tutoring middle school, high school, and college students in math subjects like algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus, while I also informally helped my peers while in the math program at Tulane. I have found that working one on one with a tutor or teacher is the fastest way for a student to reach understanding and mastery of a topic. I lov... [more]

I am a graduate of Tulane University where I received my BS and MS in Neuroscience. During completion of these degrees, I undertook rigorous coursework in mathematics and biological sciences, including courses on the philosophy of science and mathematical modeling. I have extensive tutoring experience and have worked with Sylvan Learning Center, volunteered at local schools as a tutor, and met with students for one-on-one tutoring. I also have a small personal library of education and peda... [more]

I work with all grade levels, from elementary school through the college level. I specialize in adapting my lessons to each individual student and their needs, and have a wide range of experience in taking a student's stage of life and unique struggles into account. My goal is to train students to not need me by showing them how to recognize and compensate for their academic weaknesses and biggest challenges through behavioral adaptation. After working with me, they will move forward into t... [more]

I enjoy helping others succeed. As both a high school and college student, I balanced a demanding class schedule with athletics and other endeavors. I understood that grasping concepts were just as important as understanding how to get to the right answer. By knowing the concepts, when variations would arise, you can still solve them. That is the approach I take to tutoring. I hope to pass along knowledge of the concepts. I've instructed, coached, mentored, and trained a variety of in... [more]

I am a life long New Orleanian (with the exception of my engineering undergrad). I love math and science and I always have. Even in high school and college, I helped tutor students in order to advance their academic priorities. Over the last 10 years, I have taught at the UNO College of Engineering in an adjunct faculty capacity (primarily sophmore level courses). I enjoy helping people understand math and science concepts and have traditionally received high marks from my students duri... [more]

Precalculus introduces all the tools needed for advanced math. I have tutored dozens of students in precalculus over the last 8 years. Furthermore, I have applied these skills in advanced statistics, engineering math and computer science. I am a patient and nurturing teacher who strives to get the best out of every student. I believe any dedicated student can achieve. I will help you reach your goals by identifying and filling gaps in your preparedness. In science and math, fundamentals are key to success. With a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Tulane and a BS in chemistry from Yale, I have t [more]

I like tutoring Pre-Calculus and the level of analysis it demands. Pre-Calculus was included in the first Calculus class I took at UNO. As part of a requirement for my major, I have taken 10+ hours of Calculus. Everyone starts with Pre-Calculus. I experienced it in college. I am impressed with students taking it in high school. Hi, "My Turning Point Struggle with Math" I am Martin. I am an Electrical Engineer. When I started UNO, my ACT score placed me in remedial math. In my defiance of this placement, I received permission by the Dean to skip remedial math and take my first college [more]

Frustrated in class? Can't seem to finish tests on time? Stuck at the same low ACT score? I can help. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering Magna Cum Laude and medical school is the next step. I have been tutoring students for over 5 years. I scored a 36 on my own ACT in high school. My main tutoring subjects are ACT Prep, Algebra I & II, Precalc, and Calculus I & II, but I also tutor in general chemistry and college physics (both algebra and calculus based). I teach my own studying techn... [more]
