I have taught math at all levels up to calculus and am strongly aware of the interconnections between the different skills that are involved in math. I have a particular ability to analyze my students' performance to determine the particular skill deficits that are the crux of their difficulties. By focusing on the concepts that challenge each individual student I am able to significantly improve his or her performance and confidence in a short time. I also aim to teach my students the habit of understanding math and becoming comfortable and confident mathematicians. [more]

I earned my B. A. in Mathematics from Pomona College, a top liberal arts college, in 1986. During my teaching career I taught Precalculus for approximately sixteen years at the high school level. Several of those classes were for dual enrollment credit, meaning the students could obtain college credit for taking the class.
