Pre-Calculus is the 'final wrap-up' of Algebra necessary for success with Calculus. It includes all of the material covered in prior Elementary Algebra courses (Algebras I and II) as well as extensive treatments of Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry, Functions, with introductions to Continuity and Limits. The rigor of Pre-Calculus courses is greater than previous mathematics courses and is often near the level of many Calculus courses. It requires a greater level of discipline and work than do the Elementary Algebras and Trigonometry courses. [more]

I am qualified to tutor Precalculus based on my education (Master in space Physics) and years of experience. It is my favorite subject because it is interesting and requires a excellent math and problem solving skills. I think this is the math level every high-school student should achieve. It is also very useful because is sets a base for SAT test preparation. My name is Ljiljana and I am a math professor with an extensive teaching/tutoring experience. I explore different teaching methods to help my students succeed in math and school in general. My tutoring lately is focused on SAT prepara [more]

I have taught and tutored high school and middle school math since 1976 and taught math at Granite Oaks Middle School up until retiring in June 2016. There are four components to my tutoring: 1. Concepts and Skills: help students understand the concepts behind what they are learning and give them practice on the skills they need to become mathematically fluent. 2. Accuracy, Organization, and Efficiency: help students organize their work and become accurate and efficient problem solvers. ... [more]

My education in Pre-Calculus and Calculus began early in high school, and has been a crucial component of my entire education since. As a result, I have extensive practical experience in applying and teaching all levels of Calculus. While many students find advanced forms of math intimidating, I find that most are actually quite capable of success. A little guidance to teach the students how to analyze and think through a problem gives students the confidence to tackle what they once thought they couldn't. [more]

I took several semesters of college courses which use Precalculus. I tutored math (through 3rd semester Calc.) while in undergrad school. Although I graduated in Mechanical Engineering Tech, I worked in Civil Engineering for over a decade before recently deciding to become a math teacher. I plan to use my tutoring experience towards teaching. Helping others is more rewarding to me than the money. -Patient -Persistent at finding what works best with each individual -Able to convey information -Knowledgeable in subject matter I'm available most days/hours. ... The study of life is embedded in the study of Precalculus. Precalculus explains why and how so many things work, and is the foundation language of all the sciences, including business. It is quite possibly the best high school course ever! "Why study mathematics?" and "How will I ever understand this stuff?" are two of the most real and common questions I am asked when students, along with their parents, ask me to help. I use methods and techniques that I've perfected over the years to show the applicability and the beauty behind "the beast" known as mathematics...and my students get it. I b [more]

As a Chemical Engineer, MBA, and former private school Math/Physics teacher, I teach the way that I wish someone would've taught me. Precalculus is one of my favorite subjects. "A Better Approach to Education" - Unlike the teachers and books you're struggling with right now, I use simple explanations and helpful visuals to help you understand math easier. I show you which key concepts to focus on and how to approach the subject as a whole. Instead of relying on memorization, this method develops your intuition which helps you become faster and more accurate. My message is simple: The belief [more]

Hello, I'm Benjamin and I love teaching math! I studied Psychology as an undergraduate at Sacramento State; I even had the honor of teaching a lab section for a Research Methods course, but it just couldn't keep me away from math for too long. I am currently enrolled as a Master's student in Mathematics at CSUS, but before that I went to Sierra College to brush up on the basics that I learned in High School and that is where I found wonderful teachers who inspired me to one day become a teach... I love learning, from the most simple of things to how to make my next meal taste more delicious, to grand things regarding the functioning and inner workings of the universe. I am highly motivated for my own knowledge, and endlessly enthusiastic towards those who likewise desire to obtain knowledge. There is no field of knowledge in which I lack interest, yet my areas of mastery are music and Mandarin Chinese. I have taught in China in a classroom for seven years and individually tutored... I have been taking math classes for about three years. I have taken all sorts of math classes including statistics and geometry, however as any math major I feel more confident tutoring algebra, trigonometry and some calculus. On May of the current year I graduated with an AS in mathematics from Sierra Community College in Rocklin, California. I tutored at Sierra for about one year and a half. I had a wonderful experience tutoring algebra beginners and intermediate students, but unfortunately ... [more]
