When I teach math concepts such as Precalculus/Math Analysis, I try to make it more engaging for the student by connecting the math concepts to other subjects. Some students connect more with history and culture so I'll discuss the evolution of unique math concepts. I also find real-world applications for the Precalculus/Math Analysis concepts whenever possible, so students see how relevant math is in their lives. Precalculus/Math Analysis is more challenging than Algebra 2/Math 3/Trigonometry and covers more topics so I always tell my students that they should devote twice as much time to the [more]

Every teacher/tutor has his favorite math class that he loves to teach, and Pre-Calculus (along with two others) is one of my favorites. I have taught this class at several high schools and many, many times in college. My pre-calculus students are positively prepared for calculus. Hi, my name is James. I am an experienced, patient, and personable tutor of science, mathematics, software, and technology. Science: I have had the pleasure of serving as a high school science chair teaching chemistry and physics. My focus for the past few years has been tutoring Chemistry (AP, and Honors) as well [more]

Math has always been my specialty. I took two years of calculus at UC Santa Barbara while still in high school. I obtained a doctorate in engineering and now have a small consulting company where I math extensively on a daily basis. Math has always been my specialty. I completed two years of college engineering math (Calculus, differential equations and multivariable calculus) at UC Santa Barbara while I was still in high school, earning a straight A average and a place on the Dean's honors list before I was even a full time student. In 4 years I earned bachelors degrees in Electrical Eng [more]

I have a PhD in Mathematics, and have tutored Pre-Calculus before. I have a PhD in Mathematics from Colorado State University in 2013. The material used in Precalculus classes is essential math for more advanced topics like Calculus or Probability theory or Complex analysis, Linear Algebra or even Differential Geometry, etc. (it follows Algebra 1 and 2). Naturally it is impossible to avoid being good at the relevant syllabus if you hope to learn that higher math. I have used techniques from these topics and helped others develop problem solving skills in them for many years. Most importantly i have had training in this kind of math (like discrete math, trigonometry, analytical geometry, etc.) for even math Olympics events as [more]

I am offering lessons in all levels of math from Middle School to High School level and SAT Math preparation. I have taught and mentored students at high school math and physics clubs in addition to individual tutoring at all levels from middle school to high school. I have a Master's in Statistics with a cognate in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Before that I received M.Stat degree in Operations Research and Statistical Quality Control from the prestigious I... [more]

I have a physics and math background at the college level, experience with multiple students, and the ability to explain difficult problems or concepts several different ways. I cover ALL areas of test prep (including SAT/ACT) and Physics using my amazing talent to customize my lessons to match each student's needs. Work with a Ph.D., who understands how to pass concepts on to you. I have 14 years' experience tutoring including 750 hours with WyzAnt. With WyzAnt I have worked with about 80 different students including 45 in all areas of ACT/SAT prep. I am able to customize sessions to address [more]

The 2017-2018 school year will be my fifth year of tutoring through WyzAnt. While I started as a chemistry tutor, the demand for high school mathematics tutoring concurrent with science studies encouraged me to include the algebras, geometry, and trigonometry in my repertoire. I now tutor up through and including calculus, and place special emphasis on the precalculus content which is relevant to AP Calculus AB and BC. Both of these AP Calculus exams rely on foundations from precalculus, but these skills do not necessarily overlap or reinforce one another. Spend your time in precalculus wisely [more]
