Throughout my studies I have taken Algebra, Trigonometry, pre-Calculus, single and multi-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. In all classes I've gotten no less than A's. I am comfortable teaching any of the topics above and I have seen where they apply in the world of science, giving me a unique perspective. I have a Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT, as well as a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from UC-Irvine. In the past I have run chemistry workshops and tutored many undergraduate students. In addition, as part of my requirement for grad [more]

I took 4 semesters of Calculus when I was in college and have taught honors Algebra 2 which is fairly close to the Precalculus content. I love to help someone who is struggling in math begin to succeed and to gain confidence. I especially love to help students understand Statistics, Geometry and Advanced Algebra. During the past 20 years I have tutored several students in these subjects, and have even tutored younger, elementary-aged students. I tutored one young man from middle school math through Honors PreCalculus. I also tutored his younger brother for several years. Following is a s [more]

I cover multiple topics in precalculus such as rational and irrational numbers, finding zeroes of polynomials, graphing parabolas and cubic functions, factoring quadratic equations, completing the square and synthetic division. I employ multiple practice problems so we can see exactly what's going on. I also received an A when I took this class in high school. I have privately tutored students in both college and high school level mathematics and statistics. I have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from UC Santa Barbara and completed my Masters degree in statistics at UCLA. I look forward to t [more]

I am a Caltech graduate with a degree in Mathematics and 25 years experience as an Aerospace Engineer. I love teaching math and realize that every student has a unique learning style, so I try to tailor my lessons to allow each student to use their strengths to solve a problem in the way that is easiest for them, while also working on their weak points so they will have more tools available to them to solve problems in different ways in the future. One of the great things about Math is that t... [more]

I have an A.A. in Mathematics, and almost completed a B.S. in Mathematics as well. I hold a clear California Teaching Credential, where I have been teaching professionally for the past 3 years. One of the requirements of the credential is to pass a rigorous test in subject matter competency. Having spent the past three years teaching mathematics full-time in a high school setting with a Clear California Teaching Credential, and with a background that includes a bachelor?s degree in theater and several years of teaching theater arts to diverse youth in the greater Los Angeles area, I am now ea [more]
