I have been tutoring students in Precalculus for the last 2 years. I start by working through problems with students, then have students complete problems themselves with help as needed. Students build confidence in their own abilities. This provides a positive feedback situation, where, because of their new found success, they are able to successfully tackle new problems and develop a positive attitude toward math in general, and precalculus specifically. I also tutor students in Calculus and AP Calculus so as a student learns Precalculus, I explain how the particular skill they are learn [more]

This past year, I've helped a dozen students master the topics you'll typically see in high school and to get them ready for the rigors of Calc. I've seen first-hand how students struggle with these concepts in the classroom and under pressure. We'll find a comfortable pace to advance through the basic formulas and relationships, while applying them to very common questions and practical situations. Advanced topics can also be explored for those aiming for the highest scores (and harder courses next year). [more]
