I have gained such an intrinsic understanding of pre-calculus and mathematics, that I am able to identify why someone else doesn't understand certain materials. I enjoy both helping understand the material and achieve better grades. Howdy! My name is John and being an Aggie in the engineering department allowed me to cultivate my long-existing appreciation of tutoring and helping others. I have been tutoring since I was 13 years old, and what I have been able to achieve after tutoring 500+ students since starting college, is the ability to relate the study material from closely-related majo [more]

I have had a long (30 years) and satisfying career in software development, but I was a math major in college. I helped my two daughters through their math classes, and they were always saying I should be a teacher. While I have enjoyed computer programming, math has always been my first love, and in particular, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. When I was a graduate student, I was assigned to teach a few classes, and also worked as a Teaching Assistant when I was an undergrad. If you need... [more]

I have a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from UT Austin and over 5 years of experience teaching Precalculus. I spent 5 years as an in-school math tutor for all high school level math subjects (Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus) as well as physics and have tutored at several different schools in Austin, typically with students considered "at risk" academically. I attended the University of Texas at Austin and obtained my Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Although I decided that I enjoyed teaching much more than engineering, that didn't stop me from gett [more]

I have taught and tutored precalculus for years - along with so much other math. I love precalculus in that it covers trigonometry in detail, advances algebra to new heights, and covers new ways of thinking about arrangements of numbers using polar coordinates. A great foundation in precalculus allows students to confidently continue their studies into calculus in the future. Mathematics can be intimidating to many people. I would like to put you, the student, at ease when teaching, so that you can more easily understand the subject without added stress. I have a special technique that I stumb [more]

Hi there, I got a Master from University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). I was a Math tutor at community colleges for 5 years and Calculus I TA (Teaching Assistant) at UTD for 2 years. As a student like you, I was experiencing difficulties while attending math courses and encountering troubles while solving math problems. Now, I hope I can help you efficiently with your math lessons and homework you have been facing--- with my knowledge, experience, and sincerity. See you! Sincerely, Little ... [more]

Precalculus is a class where many students will start to have some issues, even if they have been doing well in earlier math classes. I suspect this difficulty arises for two main reasons: one is the novelty of new functions encountered, such as the trigonometric functions, and two, because this class draws heavily upon properties of functions studied in algebra, which may have been forgotten. As a pre-calculus tutor, my goal is to remind students of these properties, where applicable, and to help ease the transition into trigonometry by breaking down the various aspects of the trigonometric f [more]

I'm certified to teach all High School Mathematics in Texas and I'm an experienced Precalculus tutor. My goal is to provide a convenient and helpful service. I am happy to meet students online using Wyzant's outstanding online tools, but I will also meet with students in the comfort of their own home or a neutral place like the library in Cedar Park or Starbucks. I'm a full time tutor committed to my students 9a-9p / 6 days a week and after 2:00 on Sundays. I do not have a set session length. For each student I try to schedule enough time to cover that student's needs most of the time. F. [more]

I have always enjoyed learning and I would like to share that joy with my students. Schooling should be a path of discovery at an individual pace of each individual student. I first find where my students are at and help them along the way to a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I have found that if someone understands the underlining themes of a subject, then everything becomes much clearer and simpler. I grew up in Houston and graduated from Carnegie Vanguard High School, ranke... [more]

I am an upbeat, friendly, and encouraging 5th year college student studying Secondary Math Education. I have completed all my coursework, and I am currently student teaching in an area high school. I have been working with peers on math studies since high school. I was employed as a university tutor for a semester then began working with area high school students for the past three years. I have tutored Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Calculus. Math is a passion of mine, but I und... [more]

I have a B.S. in Education, and a Master's in Mathematics (both from Big Ten schools). I am on staff as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Temple College, and as an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The college classes I teach consist mostly of College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (1 and 2) and Elementary Statistics. My greatest joy is the improved success of my students. I have a B.S. in Education (Penn State), and a Master's in Mathematics (Ohio State). I have previously taught at the Junior High level for 12 years teaching Pre-Algebra, Alge [more]
