Probability is NOT intuitive. I find this subject challenging -- so I understand where the student is coming from -- this stuff is NOT self-evident. Probability is the calculation of the likelihood of something happening, or not. If it is certain, then it gets a 1, meaning 100% certain. If it is impossible, then it gets a zero.
