I love to teach and I love mathematics. I have spent most of my teaching career teaching students who do not have a love for mathematics. However, I enjoy the challenge of helping students get over the anxiety and overcoming past negative educational experiences. Tutoring is the best way to do this because the student is getting one on one instruction which means it is tailored to meet their needs. I have a BS and MA in Mathematics Education. I also have a MA in Instructional Technology. ... [more]

I am currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and Neuroscience and a B.A. in Sociology, but I have studied several other subjects. Throughout my time at Carolina, I have found that the classes that I was the most successful in were classes with engaging professors that were dedicated to making sure students understood the overarching themes of the class. I bring this positive outlook and dedication with me as a tutor. I stri... [more]

My name is Paul and I am originally from the Atlanta Area. I attended Georgia Tech which I received my Bachelor's in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering (2010). I've have always had a very strong interest in math and science. I have had informal tutoring experiences in both high school and college helping my friends and acquaintances who were struggling. What I most enjoy about tutoring is seeing the expression on people's faces when it finally clicks and they understand. No one's academic j... [more]

I convey to students that not only is math fun but that everything in life involves math in one form or another. I emphasize that math is a process of getting from point A to point B. I stress that understanding the process and being able to duplicate the process is more critical than just getting the correct answer. I ask students to subject the solution to common sense to make sure that the proposed solution is reasonable. Simply because the calculator gave a result of 150 percent does not ... [more]

My philosophy is extremely simple...if the student hasn't learned, then the teacher hasn't taught. I have over 20 years experience teaching and tutoring math from the Kindergarten to the Collegiate level. I love helping students excel in a subject that they feel that they can never conquer. I am the only Teacher of the Year recipient in the history of Bennett College and have a long history of assisting students who were struggling in math to succeed and now are doctors. I look forwar... [more]

Hi! As a licensed teacher of math and history, I've been successfully tutoring students since 2005 in math, history, social sciences, test preparation (SAT/ ACT/ GRE/ GMAT), and writing. I also teach classes at Our Lady of Grace Middle School and the Institute of Math & Computer Science. I'm excellent at approaches the schools rarely have time for. I'll help organize disconnected stuff-to-memorize into true stories. I'll help students connect those facts and skills to the real world. I'll he... [more]
