Probability tutoring is all about coming up with examples that make sense to the student and then showcasing how those examples can extend and apply to many other problems. Great examples using probability are everywhere: sports, game shows, games of chance, college acceptance rates, etc. I can always find a great example that appeals to the student I am working with in order to enhance their learning and comprehension of the material. I am a Vanderbilt University college graduate with a Master's degree in Economics, a Certificate in College Teaching, and over 6 years of tutoring experience in [more]

Mathematics has always been my passion, but my love for teaching is what motivates me daily! I have worked as a private tutor for the past 7 years and graduated from the University of Central Florida with my BS in Mathematics last year. I recently moved to Franklin, TN where I am pursuing my Master's in Statistics and working part-time as an Adjunct Professor. My teaching philosophy is simple - to truly impact the lives of my students while supporting their academic success! I not only love m... [more]

I think it is only fair that I admit upfront that I have never taught full-time nor do I hold a teacher's license. What I do have is plenty of experience working in teaching situations varying from Vacation Bible School to guest lecturing for graduate level business classes. A little about me: I completed my undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Political Science at Vanderbilt University, earning honors in both tracts. I also have a Masters in Finance from Vanderbilt's Graduate School of B... [more]

My name is Ethan. I completed 2 MS degrees during 2011 - 2016. During my first MS degree, I was a teaching assistant at University of New Orleans. On October 7, 2013, I completed my PhD in Mathematics and Science Education. My accomplishment demonstrates that it is possible to overcome life's obstacles. As a teenager, I hated math and struggled with it during my middle and high school years. My father, on the other hand, being a great mathematician, motivated me to learn the subject. I have been where you are. I understand the frustration and confusion. It would be my privilege to help you become a stronger math student. I have worked ... [more]

I have been working privately as a mathematics tutor, covering probability as a topic and all levels of math from basic arithmetic to higher level calculus and differential equations, for the last 6 years. Additionally, I have 2 years? experience tutoring for The University of Tennessee, Math Department, as well as 2 years? experience teaching an undergraduate mechanical engineering lab section. I excelled both in AP Statistics in high school and a Statistics course in college, with both courses covering a great deal of probability . I have assisted students with probability both in my private [more]

I am an enthusiastic teacher and am well-trained in the mathematics and science disciplines. I have over twenty years of experience tutoring in math and science classes. I am very good at breaking the skill sets down into systematic and learnable processes. I believe that students who want to learn these skills can master them and I consider it my job to find ways to make that happen. In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Auburn University, I have a Master's of Science ... [more]

I have an M.S. in Mathematics. I started tutoring in the Middle Tennessee area in 2012 and I have loved every moment of it. Starting out with basic mathematics, I have now taught a variety of subjects including mathematics (elementary school to Master's level), physics (I,II), chemistry (I,II), and engineering (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials etc.). My teaching philosophy is that students must be taught how to think about the given subject and develop intuition, and the grades wi... [more]
