I use simple demonstrations to introduce probability concepts to students and then expand from them into larger problems. Probability is mostly concerned with combinations, permutations, and analysis of population and sample distributions. I used probability techniques to improve quality control in manufacturing of electronic circuit boards. (It is also useful in playing "Black Jack" to know when to "hit" or "hold".) Even insurance decisions can benefit from understanding actuarial probabilities. [more]
