I have a Ph. D in probability statistics. It is one of my favorite topics. I have 24 years of experience teaching high school and college level mathematics as well as individualized tutoring. I love helping students figure out mathematics. I really struggled at first and I understand that each student thinks about mathematics differently. My goal is to figure out how each student learns and devise a plan to help that student reach their goals. Two years ago, I helped a junior in high school girl go from crying every time she took a math test to passing a college... [more]

I have my associates degree in chemistry, and am going for my bachelors of science in chemistry with a minor in environmental studies. I have some (though not a lot of) freelance tutoring experience. My tutoring style includes make-shift visualization of the material and step-by-step mathematical proofs with conceptual understanding in mind. I have some lab experience, and whenever appropriate, I will use my data from these labs as examples of how conclusions are made in science.... [more]

Hi! My name is James. I started tutoring when I was in High School and have been tutoring ever since. I love helping students achieve their goals. With 15 years of experience, I understand that everyone learns differently and I try to find the best way with each individual student to make that breakthrough. I have worked for several tutoring companies over the years, in both private and classroom settings, and have had much success in not only helping many students score higher, but also have... [more]

I have ten years of experience teaching exam prep (SAT, ACT, and SAT II), including time at two of the largest exam prep companies in the country. I would love to use that experience to help your student achieve their maximum potential. I hold an MEd in secondary education as well as a BA in Linguistics and Middle Eastern Studies from Rutgers University, and a MA in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies from Columbia University, but I have done extensive coursework in many differ... My name is Rusty and I am interested in getting back in the tutoring business. I began tutoring high school students while I was still in high school and continued to do so while in college. At the same time, while majoring in Math/Computer Science, I also began tutoring college-age students at another local university. This continued after I graduated while I was obtaining my Master's Degree in Education. I then did my student teaching in both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, received my teaching l... [more]

The bachelor's degree that I have earned is in mathematics. But before I came to United States, I was teaching Integral Calculus, Discrete Structures, Differential Equations, and Automata Theory at Angeles University Foundation College of Computer Studies. I taught there for 5 years (1995-2000), while I was taking my post-graduate (MS Math) studies. Right now, I'm working as a math teacher in a high school in Henderson. This means that I have a wide range of knowledge in math, and I can ... [more]

I discovered my love for math in the fourth grade. I always felt like math problems were like puzzles: the key to solving any problem is trusting what you know and knowing how to use it. Nobody knows exactly how each puzzle piece will fit with one another, but by sorting through the easier parts first, whether you find it easier to match shapes or colors, the picture starts to reveal itself, and the harder part gets easier. My favorite part of tutoring is watching students begin to trust th... [more]

MATH, SPSS, Solidworks and Computing are some of the areas that I consider my forte, though I teach other subjects as well. I have had my education with three university degrees, each having extensive use of Mathematics. I have privately tutored students up to college level in the past and resumed this activity, as it gives me sheer joy and fulfillment of being able to share whatever knowledge and insight I may have gained. In a way, sometimes I find I am reliving some of the chapters of my o... [more]

Having relied on advanced statistical methods in my work, I am familiar with probability theory. With a focus on practical applications, we can work on using the properties of distributions to achieve your homework or learning goals. In addition, we will be able to use a variety of learning styles for many concepts in probability theory. I have been tutoring and teaching statistics and research design for six years and have more than ten years of tutoring experience all told. I have taught or tutored students from grade 8 up to post-grad. I am a political scientist by training (involves lo [more]
