I studied probability as part of my degree plan at UT, and use it extensively in statistics as well. The study of probability is largely about 1. counting methods, often studied in discrete math classes, and 2. learning the various types of distributions commonly used in modeling data: exponential, normal, gamma, uniform, etc,, including the important aspects of each type of distribution, such as mean, standard deviation, memorylessness, etc. Often sophisticated calculus techniques are required as well. As a graduate in math from UT, I am well-acquainted with these aspects of the class. [more]

We have all heard about 'chances'. Doctors, Governments, Big Business all use this concept to try and predict the outcome of certain actions and events. At this level we will be keeping it simple and deal with a couple of factors to understand concepts and answer questions. Probability is one topic that is pure common sense. 8 years of experience teaching at various levels, 1000+ Successful students, a degree in Engineering and significant practical engineering experience helps me make education REAL. I teach in a manner whereby all the theory that may seem too abstract and 'dry' will turn int [more]

I have Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I have been working in the University for the past 7 years with the experiences of teaching, mentoring and working with the students. From my experiences, I know how to encourage the students in the university level. From the STEM courses I have taught, I gained the experiences and confidences in regard to how to make the students understand the concept and how to solve the math and engineering problems. I tutored my step-daughters when... [more]

I myself have always loved learning. The desire to understand an economic principle, a physical process, or a mathematical theorem is what drives my own learning. Once I have that understanding, I never get tired of revisiting it, especially to help someone get their own grasp of the concept for themselves. I love the subjects, I know them in and out, and I will enthusiastically work towards assisting you while you learn about these subjects like I did. I graduated first in my high school... [more]

I enjoy tutoring students whether they are just trying to successfully fulfill a requirement or desire to pursue a career in mathematics. Seeing student improve is quite rewarding. Past experience tutoring includes coordinating the math lab at a four-year university. I tutored subjects including high pre-algebra, calculus I, II, ... [more]
