I have tutored many, many SAT and ACT math students to their success! I really know how to prepare the student. Typically, the SAT math student will need to know all of his/her math through Algebra 2 and some pre-calculus/trig. Many of the SAT or ACT math problems do not take a lot of time to do. The problems are set up in such a way that the student should be looking for the obvious, ie: w [more]

Taking admission tests requires not only mastering the subject but also the test taking process. Setting a test taking strategy is crucial for success. In a test taking environment in which time is pressuring, being precise and fast at the same time requires training. SAT Math is one of my favorites. I have more than 15 years of experience in tutoring students of all ages and levels of education from elementary to graduate school. I am most interested in changing the way my students perceive themselves when approaching math. Throughout the years, I have had the most rewarding experience when m [more]

I pride myself in helping students reach proficiency in math and in learning and easily recalling what they have learned. I've taught and tutored high school math in California for 16 years, was teacher of the year and math department chair for 4 years, and spearheaded several innovative programs for multiple schools to help struggling students improve the speed and proficiency of their learning. There are several easy things that you can do to help your SAT math score. Knowing the Pythagorean triples will make several problems easier. Understanding basic Geometry, the formulas, and principles are also helpful. Using a book to learn the types of problems is good, memorizing the specific problems is not. Once you know which problems you are having problems with, it is important to learn how to solve all similar problems. The books are always easier than the test. I am a UCI honors graduate in mathematics with a minor in computer science. I started tutoring as a favor for a friend [more]

We will cover subjects including: Heart of Algebra, Passport to Advanced Math, Problem Solving, and Data Analysis. In addition, we will include geometry, trigonometry, and problems with complex numbers. Also, we will put together a weekly study program to increase the score. I also do test prep for SAT Math I and SAT Math II subject tests. I believe students should be confident in their math skills. By getting good grades in school, their options in life (e.g. jobs, career paths) are kept open. I gauge where the student is at in knowing the concepts by having him/her work out the problems [more]

I have been to lots of exams as a student. However, I have been to more exams as a tutor or supplemental instructor. This experience gives me the good vision of knowing what kinds of questions are important for tests. I start my SAT sessions by going over tests with my students and I explain whenever it seems they have difficulty doing the problem. I always make sure they understand the material before I move to the other questions. I am a patient and experienced tutor that is doing this job professionally. Please spend couple of minutes to take a look at my testimonials to see what my stude [more]

I can help your student set a goal, practice test-taking techniques and strategies. They will need to take full practice tests between sessions for the techniques to imprint. I have been around instructors for my entire life. My mother was a general tutor for the neighborhood and I helped her when our small apartment was stuffed with children and textbooks, writing, reading and aiding them with math after my own homework was done. Much later, I found a paying job at a small tutoring center. There, I mainly tutored physics and, tutoring many students working on the same subject, I was able to t [more]
