I took the SAT II in Math three times, and on my final time I achieved a perfect 800. The trick? SAT Practice Exams! As it turns out, my teachers neglected to cover just ONE concept that was in several problem on the exam, so all I had to do was learn it. The example problems in a practice exam cover ALL of the material you will see on the test, (which, by the way, ONLY covers up to Algebra). So now, you just have to understand the limited number of concepts that you will be tested on. If you choose me to tutor you in SAT Math, I recommend you buy a practice exam book (with answers, no expla [more]

I discovered then a passion for teaching and have been doing so in a variety of positions both formal and informal since then. I push my students to learn the specific information they ask of me. Perhaps more importantly though, it is my hope that they will find a passion for learning and gain skill sets that they can use in all their end... [more]

I graduated from UCSD last June with a BA in Literature and Writing and a minor in Spanish Literature. I have tutored students in all areas of both the SAT and ACT for a little over two years, as well as all levels of Spanish. I also remember what it is like to learn Spanish as a non-native speaker, and have a lot of strategies to make my students' work less tedious a... [more]

My name is Vy, and I am currently a math major student in college. Growing up and obtaining most of my education in Asia. At first, I thought it would be a disadvantage for me to pursue a degree in Mathematics in the U.S due to the difference in how math is taught here and in Asia, but it soon turned out it is actually an advantage! The theoretical, sophisticated approach from Asia helps me understand the subjects very thoroughly, and the more hand-ons, more applicable approach here strongly... [more]
