As a top-percentile SAT scorer, I have tutored the SAT for the Princeton Review, other large test prep companies, and in my own SAT/ACT business for many years. Many of my students score in the 90-95th percentile and above, with some even receiving perfect scores. I have consistently received strong recommendations from those that I tutor the SAT on. I am currently a long-time tutor for the Princeton Review, have taught at UCLA (TA), and have over 11+ years of private tutoring and teaching experience working with tutoring companies in addition to test prep companies. I specialize in tutoring h [more]

Content of SAT is taken from students' high school math classes with problems that are more sophisticated than those in the textbooks. The key to scoring high on SAT is to have a thorough understanding of the math courses and apply students' knowledge to SAT. Quick reviews, prior to the test, can refresh students' memory on formulas needed for the test. Having strategies to approach test items, and knowing the format of the test are also helpful to the mastery of this test. I am a graduate of the University of Miami, Florida, achieving a B.S. and a M.S. degree, majoring in math. I have been tu [more]

I received a perfect 800 on the SAT's Math section in January 2017.? SAT Math questions can seem intimidating at first. They look like problems from an IQ test that you can't really study for. The good news is that everything on the test consists of middle and high school math concepts combined in unusual ways. The SAT is a standardized test, so it has to ask the same kinds of tricky problems over and over again. It won't warn you that a particular problem is about factoring, graphing a line, or similar triangles ? that would defeat the purpose of making the problems seem hard ? but it will [more]

Preparing for the Math section of the SAT can be frustrating, as there is a heavy emphasis on geometry, which many students take two or more years prior to taking the SAT. In addition to reviewing key concepts necessary for this test, I teach multiple strategies so every student is confident when they walk in the door on test day. Students can also transfer these strategies to classroom tests. My goal is to teach my students *how* to learn so they no longer need to rely on me. In addition to three Clear California Teaching Credentials (Math, English, and Multiple Subject), I have many years of [more]
