Hi my name is Ana. I am a native speaker of Spanish and English having grown up in a Mexican American family. I spent 2 years studying at a university in Mexico where I perfected my Spanish before returning to the US and earning my degree from Colorado School of Mines. Towards the end of college I spent time working as a math tutor. I recently completed a Masters degree in Accounting from a school in France. Currently, I work a full time job and I am mainly looking to tutor students in the ... [more]

I have tutored students in the SAT math content. I also teach high school level math in the classroom, which features the same content tested for on the SAT. I took the SAT I and SAT II in math and scored highly (790) on both, plus an 800 on the GRE Math section. I am an experienced high school math teacher and tutor who has worked with students from 6-12th grades, having taught or tutored nearly every level of math from pre-algebra through AP Calculus (algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry pre-calculus, probability and statistics, SAT and ACT prep). When I was a student I experie [more]

I have experience tutoring the SAT both privately and while I was teaching. I stay up-to-date on any changes and the latest research-based study methods. I also scored within the 99th percentile when I took it. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and I have several years of tutoring and teaching experience. I taught high school math for three years, including Geometry, Algebra 2, Accelerated Precalculus, and AP Statistics. I have also tutored these subjects as well as Algebra 1, College Algebra, AP Calculus, and Business Statistics. One of my favorite aspects of both tut [more]

My undergraduate major in education has prepared me to teach a number of diverse learners. I am excellent with one-on-one help and feel like I get information across to individuals in a way they understand. My education classes and student teaching experience have helped me to better understand how different math concepts work. Because of this, I know how to explain concepts in very organized and logical steps. Also, if one way of explaining a concept is not registering for a student, I gener... [more]

I am up-to-date on the new SAT and work to prepare materials to help students develop deeper understanding and build math confidence. I can support all kinds of students with test preparation, including those with test anxiety. I believe that I can help every student master math concepts. I have 30 years of experience in math education and have worked with students of all abilities. I have taught middle school and high school mathematics. I have taught both accelerated students and students that struggle (and students in between). I know many ways to approach math concepts so that if my [more]

I consider myself a highly qualified Math teacher as I am holding a master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Denver. Moreover, I have a bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Education. I worked as Denver math fellow for the school year of 2016-2017, as a middle school teacher from 2005-2006, and as a TA at the University of Misurata-Libya for 3 years. I tutored Mathematics for high... [more]

I was a private tutor for SAT math for 2 years in high school. It took the SAT, which I received over a 2300 on. I also got an 800 on the SAT II in math. I have taken classes (with all A's) and am proficient in all mathematical subjects on the SAT. I love math. The relationship is almost unhealthy. Instead of counting sheep, I estimate the log base 5 of sheep. In my high school English class, rather than pay attention to Shakespeare or Charles Dickens, I would write the powers of 2 as high as I could go in my 45-minute period and pick up where I left off the next day. And perhaps nerdiest of a [more]

Teaching has been part of my career since leaving College. I am currently instructing at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine and would like to reach out to a larger community of students who might be struggling with some mathematical concepts. Math is fun and can be rewarding! I also teach in the Graduate School at Thomas utilizing advanced math techniques and computer skills. Real-life examples are always used to bring realism to the classroom setting.... [more]
