I used to work for a company in Houston which specialized in standardized test tutoring. We were taught special tricks and methods to improve students' scores for the SAT and ACT exams. I focus on both explaining the methods to train for these particular tests as well as to teach the mathematics behind the problems to explain the fundamental concepts necessary to not only achieve a good grade on the test, but also succeed in future math courses. I am currently in my fourth year of graduate studies in the mathematics PhD program at the University of Iowa, and I have a Masters Degree in Mathemat [more]

I received a 780 on the SAT Math test. I also received a score of 168 (max. score: 170) on the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GRE, which tests many of the same skills as the SAT. To help students do well on the SAT, I like to break down the problems by the skills they test, and work on these skills individually, based on the specific needs of the student. I graduated from Yale University in 2013 with a degree in chemistry and spent six months after that tutoring and running a small business consigning used textbooks.
