I use complex math everyday as a physics student. As such, I am very comfortable with the math that is necessary to conquer the SAT. I firmly believe that one of the most important things in life is getting a quality education. A good education can lead to greater opportunities and some of the best opportunities are in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. However, these fields also pose many challenges to today's students. It is my goal to help students conquer that challenge. As a physics PhD student, I am well versed in many aspects of the STEM field and I am incredi [more]

I have a PhD in Statistics. My PhD thesis is on a Stochastic Process problem in optimal stopping: pricing of a Perpetual Swaption problem with non-a.s. finite stopping time. My Statistical expertise includes, but is not limited to, basic statistics, Linear Regression, Statistical Methodology in research, Bayesian Statistics, Survivial Data Analysis, Generalized Linear Model, point-estimation theory, Linear Model Theory, Probability and Stochastic Processes. I can explain concepts in any of these clearly and understandably. [more]

I received a 780 on the SAT Math test. I also received a score of 168 (max. score: 170) on the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GRE, which tests many of the same skills as the SAT. To help students do well on the SAT, I like to break down the problems by the skills they test, and work on these skills individually, based on the specific needs of the student. I graduated from Yale University in 2013 with a degree in chemistry and spent six months after that tutoring and running a small business consigning used textbooks. I then made a leap to the consulting world, implementing HR/payroll [more]

I have tutored over 1000 hours in subjects ranging from Pre-Algebra to College level Statistics and Calculus. I have also helped many students prepare for SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and ASVAB tests. I have a BS in Mathematics from Grand View in Des Moines and am now working on my Masters in Actuarial Science at the University of Iowa. If you have aspirations of a career in the sciences, economics, finance, or even business, then mathematics is quite possibly the most important language to learn. H... [more]

I'm a physics, mathematics, and computer science triple major, currently in my junior year at Coe College. I have a GPA of 3.940, and I tutor college math and physics students here at beginning and intermediate levels. I graduated Valedictorian from Wabasha-Kellogg High School, class of 2010. After my Freshman year at Coe, I took an internship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology through the Society of Physics, working in the semiconductor division in Gaithersburg, right o... I have worked as an adjunct professor of statistics and algebra at Bellevue University and Iowa Western Community College since 2001. I work as a meteorologist/computer programmer for the Air Force, writing software to calculate statistics for large data sets. I also prepare graphical reports, so I use technology like Microsoft Excel daily and have found it is a great tool for reinforcing statistical concepts in the classroom. In my spare time I have designed web pages and taught myself Ge... [more]

I work full-time as an electronics engineer and I attend graduate school part-time for my Master's Degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering with a graduate minor in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University (ISU). As an undergraduate, I attended Northern Illinois University (NIU) where I graduated in May 2016 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with two minors in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and an undergraduate Certificate of Study in Nanotechnology. From my time at NIU... [more]

I am in many ways, a stereotypical liberal arts graduate - I have a lifelong love of learning and explaining, and have always been interested in practically every subject. When I was in college, I was active as a tutor in six different departments, and I loved the feeling of changing gears between the subjects and relating them to each other. But while I am a generalist - I feel as comfortable with Russian literature and music as I do with mathematics and military history - I know that for ... [more]

I enjoy helping people fulfill their goals. Whether a student wanted to do more to excel in classes, a home school student desired to fulfill a math requirement to get into college, college freshmen required help with their writing skills, or international students wanted to practice conversational English, I have helped provide the training and support they needed. I have also helped first graders to learn to read, to do arithmetic, and to develop science skills. I have assisted employ... [more]
